Hello! I’m Hafiz Azman a.k.a. fizzd, a game developer co-leading the indie studio 7th Beat Games. (We make rhythm game, 2 in fact). I finally have a place to write! I used to do it on cohost before it got shut down, so now I’m here.

Rhythm Doctor (2021)

Website, Steam. I made the original prototype with my friend Winston Lee, and now I lead game design and music. Here’s a video talk I did about the game design. Here’s the OST on Youtube with some tracks I composed. It won the IGF Audio Award in 2024.

A Dance of Fire and Ice (2019)

itch.io (with web demo), Steam, and mobile. I made the original prototype during a Ludum Dare game jam, now lead game design. Here’s a post about programming the prototype.

Non-commercial / Jam Games

You can find these on my itch.io. But the ones I’m particularly proud of are the ones we made as birthday games for some people!

  • Rhythm Frog for Kyle’s birthday (web, mobile friendly) - it’s a one-button rhythm game where you can set the pace. I basically took the idea from this popular WeChat game ‘Tiao Yi Tiao’ and made it rhythmic. I did game design and music, Giacomo did the programming and art!

  • Chiki’s Chefs for greeny’s birthday (web, mobile friendly) - a one-button rhythm game based on the whole meme of learning rhythms from food. Featuring the characters from greeny’s amazing game Chiki’s Chase! I did game design and music, Giacomo did the programming and art. (the music was kinda based on greeny’s temp music they used for Chiki’s Chase before they got their final music)

  • Squeak‘n Seek for Giacomo’s birthday (web, mobile friendly-ish..) - a rhythm game not a rhythm game?!? Puzzle games are my secret pleasure. I did the game design, many people from 7BG did other parts.

Others:

  • Chiki’s Drive (web, mobile ONLY) - a really small troll-y birthday game made just to make greeny laugh.

  • Pathinko - small puzzle game made for the Confounding Calendar. The thing i’m most proud of is the name. I want to expand on it, maybe one day.

  • Climbing over it with fizzd - a game made for my birthday, designed by Morphious with other 7BG friends! I did nothing, but I love it.
