Since I doubt this PR will probably get merged in full, I'd suggest probably just cherrypicking the Dockerfile changes and I'll be happy to close this.

I'll try bellsoft's musl image to see if there's a difference from using it. If not, I'll probably switch to it.

after being on overnight, crossposting seems to be working consistently with the latest commits, so i'll close the issue.

it appears that after a fresh start it works fine for a tiny bit, before no longer working. nothing helpful gets spat out of logs afterwards. i'll try to see if i can force something out
