About

Sam Solomon is an entrepreneur, design engineer and writer based in Atlanta. He leads product design at Salesloft and previously co-founded SidePrize (now PrizePicks).

Hello! Welcome to my humble little corner of the internet. Here, you'll find a decade and a half of my writing, photography and personal projects.

You can call me a designer, but over the years I've also worked as an engineer, producer, marketer and support agent. I've done a bit of everything—I even sold coupon books door-to-door for a business I started in college.

Writing is thinking. It helps me organize my thoughts. I write as a way to check the assumptions floating around in my head. I fancy myself a grumpy, stubborn designer, so you'll find plenty of rants and assertions. But, it's all in good fun.

Making things is important. That belief, paired with a relentless curiosity, has led me down a lot of strange and varied paths over the years. Most have faded, but they taught me valuable lessons and opened plenty of doors.

I joined Salesloft in 2017 as one of its first designers, and have since shipped features that improved workflows for millions of salespeople.

Today, I'm a Senior Staff Product Designer leading the platform team and our Starlight design system. Lately, I've been training designers to iterate and prototype with coding agents, and more broadly helping our product org adopt agentic workflows.

In 2014, I co-founded SidePrize, a fantasy sports company known today as PrizePicks. That business grew into one of the largest fantasy sports companies in North America and sold to Alwynn in January 2026.

Years ago I was a podcast host for the Designer News Podcast, DN FM. The show featured interviews with designers, illustrators and people in the tech community. That crew and community have gone, but every now and then I consider restarting it.

I live in Atlanta and I love exploring and taking photos.

If you want to say hi, I'm a regular on X and Instagram—though the newsletter is probably the best way to keep up with me.

Anyway, hope to see ya around!
