The incumbents are pouring billions into AI features on top of platforms built 15 years ago. I'm not losing sleep over any of it. Here's what building with less forces you to do. You can't buy distribution, so you earn it through outcomes. You can't afford 18-month implementations, so you ship in weeks. You can't subsidize mediocre results, so you charge per resolution and let customers hold you accountable every single month. 100+ enterprise customers. 100% renewal rate. 18 months out of stealth. Not because we outspent anyone. Because when you don't have unlimited runway, every product decision gets pressure-tested by the customer paying for results, not promises. The best-funded company rarely wins. The one that resolves the most problems does.

That might not seem like a crazy amount, but, as I shared, the impact of your donations go such a long way and will truly be felt in the community for months! I can’t thank you enough for your help in expanding the reach of my post and a special thanks to those of you that were able to donate! 💛Matt Belkin liked thisAt the end of February, I had the incredible opportunity to spend 10+ days in Guatemala learning from, and serving, the Guatemalan people near El Remate. It was my first time in Guatemala, but I know that it won’t be my last. A few of my takeaways from my time there: 1) Human connection is universal. In the span of a single day, I met and worked with people from France, the United Kingdom, Honduras, Greece, Canada and Guatemala. And by the end of the day I felt connected to them and extremely grateful that our paths had crossed. 2) Happiness can be found in all challenges and situations. I watched kids giggle uncontrollably while taking turns playing with a broken foam dart gun. I watched women’s groups enjoy each others’ company while weeding community gardens and making fresh tortillas. These were people without many worldly possessions but with so much happiness. 3) Small steps (and packages) add up to big results. Anne Lossing is THE force behind so much of the life-altering work happening in this part of the world. Standing at no more than 4’ 10” and weighing in at maybe 90 lbs soaking wet, her impact is easily 1000X her physical size. How has she done so much? In her words, she’s done it by just taking one step at a time. She, and project Ixcanaan, have built a medical clinic, a dental clinic and a children’s center! They are currently working on plans for a birthing center and center for music and dance. 4) Mother Earth is incredible and can heal. There is something so nourishing and healing about digging in the soil, working with beautiful plants, feeling the power in ancient trees and in letting the water of a lake suspend you while you watch the clouds overhead pass by. If you are feeling disconnected, may I suggest getting outside and getting a little dirty or wet. 5) A little help can go a LONG way. $25 covers electricity for one of the centers. For less than $50 you can make it feel like Christmas for an entire family. $250 covers a children center employee’s monthly salary. Matt Belkin reacted on thisMatt Belkin reacted on thisIn 2022, my company asked me to move to Tokyo to hire and train a new consulting team. My first instinct was to list every reason to say no. I'd never been to Japan. I don't speak Japanese. I'd be far from family. I didn't even like fish, let alone sushi! But I said: "Count me in, I just need to talk to my wife first." Because if it's going to work, it has to work for both of us. But I had no idea how to build a consulting team from scratch in a foreign country. I was stepping into complete uncertainty. But I've learned something about myself over the years: When I say yes, my learning expands. When I say no, it goes stale. Tokyo pushed me out of my comfort zone in more ways than I can count. But that discomfort became the best classroom I've ever been in. And yes, I now genuinely love sushi. If you're in Utah and want to grab lunch sometime, DM me. First roll's a conversation starter. 🍣
