Helping people help other people has made Reddit the 5th most-visited site in the U.S. and the 8th worldwide as of January, according to market intelligence firm Similarweb. Lately, it's also made for a burgeoning financial success story. But while it may have been the laughingstock of the skies, a raft of heartfelt tributes rolled in after Spirit announced its closure — even from former naysayers. There was plenty of concern for Spirit’s newly unemployed airline workers; nearly 17,000 people lost their jobs. There was also genuine mourning for an airline that filled an essential economic niche. With its infamously no-frills policies, Spirit offered a lifeline for travelers who otherwise couldn’t afford to fly. “I shared in the mourning,” writes Vanessa Ogle. “I grew up next to a Superfund site, and my mom and I both worked in fast food. I moved to New York as a teenager, and when I could afford to travel home on my Domino’s salary, it was courtesy of Spirit. The shiny stuff first- 8500 retail doors, 10M cans sold, 7 product launches (+ a few more on the way), countless press features. But those aren’t the things that immediately come to mind when I think about what I’ll carry with me. De Soi was a growth platform - one that stretched me beyond my wildest imagination. I built teams, I presented to a board for the first time, I learned how to raise money and how to sell, I spoke on panels and podcasts. I also found an incredible network and community of other entrepreneurs, consumer goods obsessors. I came here, to LinkedIn, and shared my journey with you. I joined De Soi when I was 26 and I'm not the same person today. So much of that growth was only possible because of my team, investors, and partners who poured into this brand alongside me- it doesn’t go without saying: thank you. When we built this brand, we always knew it was meant for glass. The can was first - it had to be, given the channels we needed to reach - but if you looked at the brand, the typography, the crest, the gold... it wanted to live behind a bar in a bottle. Getting there was brutal. There was no glass capacity in the US for non-alcoholic beer. Every brewery we approached was at the wall. The category just isn't there yet. We had to get creative. Neha Soi and Grant Wood carried this one. Im not exaggerating when I say it took two years of phone calls, dead ends, restarts, and pure will to make this happen. There were a lot of moments when this could have died. It didnt because of them. When we launch, we will be the only craft non-alcoholic beer in the US available in glass. That matters. Premium on-premise - the best hotels, restaurants, and bars in the world pour from a bottle. Cans don't sit on those backbars. Glass does and Lauren Gilmore Stubblefield our new head of the on-premise is making moves! This is how we earn placement next to the most iconic beers in the world, not as a substitute, not as a "healthy option" - as a beer that belongs there. LFB.

Megan Do liked thisMegan Do liked thisNo self respecting New Yorker wants to look like a tourist, and yet, every real New Yorker is fascinated by their city. Because I was inspired by that tension - and because my three favorite things are talking, walking, and New York City - I launched my passion project and future billion dollar empire, MELISSAWALKS! NYC Walking Tours. After one of our trademark 20+ mile walks around the city, Emily Hovis suggested (jokingly, maybe) that I should get my tour guide license. I said hell yeah (jokingly, definitely, because it sounded like a great bit). I committed to that bit, earnestly studied really hard, took the NYC Tour Guide Exam, got a 93% 💅, and took a million selfies with my exam results. But then, I realized that if I put genuine effort into making this real, I could give the kind of tours I wish were more available to my cool, curious, cultured New York community: tours that are interesting and thought-provoking, but also story-driven, funny, intimate, and unstuffy. The kind of thing you’d want to do with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. Or with your coworkers on a long lunch break. The kind of tour that makes you feel like you walked away with fodder for happy hour, not like you spent hours sitting in school. Something active and exciting for locals and New York-minded guests. My first tour, Hottest Gossip of NYC History, which spills tea on the most jaw-dropping scandals, affairs, corruption, misdeeds, and murders that took place on the streets of NYC, has been already booked up for just about all weekends in May (!!!!!!), but June dates are officially open for the taking!
