Mike Pecen shared thisA 750 credit score is the perfect mask for "Clean Fraud." In real-time lending, if you aren’t securing the identity layer before the credit engine fires, you’re flying blind. As a follow on to the Fintech Meetup panel discussion I participated in, here's some of my latest thoughts on this topic on why speed is a byproduct of precision: * P&L Risk: Why speed without precision is a liability, not an asset * Inclusion: How to automate the "Yes" for 30M thin-file consumers * Strategy: Decoupling Identity from Credit is the way to stop "Clean Fraud." #fintechmeetup2026 #efx4fintechMike Pecen shared thisIs your lending strategy balancing speed & risk? Mike Pecen shared thisMore data doesn’t mean better lending—it can lead to automating bad decisions at scale. That is the core tension of real-time credit. I’ll be joining Rob Finnegan (Affirm), Annie Delgado (Upstart) and Rob Seidman (US Bank) with Kevin Moss moderating. The challenge isn't access to data; it's separating signal from noise when decisions happen in milliseconds. If you’re in Vegas, let’s connect. #EFX4Fintech #FintechMeetup

Thank you Timothy Li for your partnership and vision. This is a testament to what our teams can achieve together. Onward! 🚀 #bettertogether #efx4fintechMike Pecen shared thisHonored to Recognize Equifax as LendAPI’s 2025 Credit Bureaus Partner of the Year! I’m incredibly excited to share that we’ve named Equifax® as LendAPI's 2025 Partner of the Year in the Credit Bureaus category. This recognition means a lot to us. Equifax has been an extraordinary partner deeply collaborative, highly responsive, and consistently committed to delivering real value to our shared clients. Their credit data, identity, fraud, and analytics solutions have played a critical role in helping lenders on our platform build smarter, faster, and more inclusive credit strategies. What I appreciate most is how seamlessly our teams work together. From tackling complex technical challenges to enabling smooth integrations, Equifax has repeatedly set the bar for what great partnership looks like in fintech. Jacob Osborne, SVP & GM, Head of Fintech & Payments at Equifax, said it best: “Equifax is honored to receive LendAPI’s Partner of the Year Award in the Credit Bureaus category. Working alongside LendAPI has allowed us to jointly accelerate innovation and deliver meaningful impact for shared clients. We look forward to continuing this partnership and expanding access to financial opportunity for consumers and businesses alike.” For me personally, recognizing Equifax with this award is a celebration of the shared vision both of our teams hold empowering the next generation of lenders and expanding access to financial opportunity for all. Huge congratulations to the entire Equifax team. I’m excited for everything we’ll continue building together. To see more of our celebration, please visit: https://lnkd.in/gXxPBSdM

Mike Pecen liked thisMike Pecen liked thisAI infrastructure is introducing credit risk that most lending frameworks were not designed to price. I’ve been reading and hearing about the data center costs but after digging in, it is more serious than I originally thought. I’m not sure how the new models play out with valuations, costs and “energy taking”. GPUs can lose 40 to 60 percent of their value within 18 to 24 months of a successor launch. New chips deliver step changes in performance, which pulls demand away from prior generations quickly. The “how” shows up in the structure of these deals. Financing is built around multi year repayment profiles, while the underlying assets reset on much shorter cycles. That creates an issue between outstanding loan balance and real market value of the collateral. If utilization drops or multiple lenders move to liquidate, secondary markets get flooded with similar equipment. Loss severity increases. This is an asset quality signal where the market is starting to price the difference between building AI and financing AI infrastructure at scale. In the end are people/ homeowners really benefiting from this ? Seems to me they are taking on the costs. Another question is how the credit behind this holds up when the hardware cycle moves faster than the loan? This is something the markets haven’t experienced at scale and has to be considered. https://lnkd.in/ehSVtWi6 MISMO Mortgage Bankers Association Fannie Mae Freddie Mac

𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩. With the CFPB scaling back, consumer protection is shifting to states like California, New York, Massachusetts and Colorado. This means more patchwork rules, more state-level AG lawsuits and more complexity for any lender, agency, or debt buyer operating across borders. Smart teams are doubling down on compliance automation, audit readiness and real-time monitoring (state by state). The next few years will test who’s truly resilient when federal guardrails fade. 👉 Read how this shift is unfolding and what it means for your teams: https://bit.ly/44KXPXy

I've been thinking about what's missing from the agent payment infrastructure we're all building toward. ERC-8004 launched last month, adding the discovery and trust layer on top of Google's A2A protocol. But there's a compliance gap that could slow enterprise adoption considerably. In my latest article, I explore why we need an Ownership Registry—and why building it now matters more than waiting for regulators to force our hand. The core insight: we can meet KYC/KYB requirements without exposing sensitive data on-chain. Cryptographic proofs give us verification without sacrificing privacy. Agent-to-agent payments are moving from concept to infrastructure. The question is whether we build the compliance layer proactively or reactively.

This journey has been a wild ride. I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. The hard work is appreciated so much more when you see results. Lending in the Credit Union world is fragmented. It’s difficult to navigate and is usually pieced together by many, many systems. We built Algebrik One™ to answer that. Today, we’re thrilled to welcome another forward-thinking credit union into the Algebrik AI network, United Financial Credit Union— one that’s adopting our full lending origination suite, from: 🔷 Digital Account Opening 🔷 LOS (Lender’s Cockpit) 🔷 Omnichannel POS 🔷 AI Decision Engine 🔷 Portfolio Analytics What they get: ✅ 90% drop in abandonment ✅ Same-day funding ✅ Built-in compliance ✅ Decisions in under 5 minutes ✅ A member experience that feels like magic (not middleware) Don’t just settle with vendors having the upper hand. Don’t just settle with unfulfilled change requests. Don’t just settle for work arounds and manual procedures. I guess what I’m trying to say is, Don’t Just Settle.
