Nathan Golan reposted thisWe’re pulling together a strong group for May 7 in DC at the Salamander, hosted by Kong. Teams from across Federal government and the private sector already confirmed. The focus is less on presentations and more on how organizations are actually approaching AI in production — governance, cost control, and getting real workloads live. If you’re working through similar questions, would be great to have you there. #KongFederal #AI #AIGatewayNathan Golan reposted thisFrom Seattle to D.C., we're going coast to coast for the Kong Agentic Era World Tour! 🦍 If you're an AI-decision maker, a builder, or anyone in between, you won't want to miss this. These events will cover what it takes to win in the age of AI connectivity. You can expect conversations on AI cost control, AI governance, making sense of agentic protocols, and more. Nathan Golan reposted thisNathan Golan reposted thisDid you hear about the Uber and Anthropic news? Over the next few weeks and months, how many Engineering leaders are about to wake up, have their coffee, and then start their work days with emails from the CTO, CIO, and/or CFO (yikes if it's all three!!) about AI program budgets already being consumed for all of 2026... ...in April? In May? My guess? A lot. I don't think Uber is alone. If what Kong has been saying is right, this "hidden" AI coding cost problem is about to become very "unhidden." And it's going to happen very fast. Speed alone is just a fast way to fail. Speed. Cost. Risk. All must be governed. Learn more here: #AgenticAI #AIConnectivity #AIFinOps #ClaudeCode

Nathan Golan reposted thisNathan Golan reposted this"All the Web's an API, and AI Agents its users", to paraphrase Shakespeare. Salesforce's Headless 360 is a major step in this direction. "No AI without APIs", as Augusto Marietti has said. But here are some concerns: - Very few vendors have everything in their UX available in a API. The Amazon Web Services (AWS) console has everything in its UX in an API, but it's one of the *very few* true examples of this practice. Expect vendors now to scramble to build out their APIs to fully reflect everything in their UX. - Computer Use is the antithesis of APIs. And it's growing. If your APIs have too much sign-up friction, expect your UX to be scraped by AI agents instead. Vendors like Jentic are working to reduce this API friction for AI agents. - Headless SaaS is not new. We've been tracking it on our Hype Cycle for some years now. It went through the Trough of Disillusionment over the past few years. Why? Because it means giving up control of the System of Engagement. And API pricing has always been tricky - which is why my Gartner colleagues like John Santoro gets so many client inquiries about API pricing. The last point is key: Headless SaaS means giving up control of the System of Engagement. Is that a capitulation to AI Agents, or is it a smart move?

Nathan Golan reposted thisNathan Golan reposted thisIntroducing Kong Agent Gateway, a new capability in Kong AI Gateway! 📣 It extends our platform to now cover agent-to-agent (A2A) communication in addition to LLM and MCP traffic. Combined with Kong's API Management and Event Management, customers now have a single governance layer across the entire stack — APIs, events, LLM calls, MCP tool access, and A2A communication. We call this the full AI data path, and no other vendor covers it. Check out the press release to learn more: https://bit.ly/4mwkHmf Want more info or have questions? Check out the blog below 👇

Nathan Golan reposted thisNathan Golan reposted thisMeta paused work with a $10B AI data vendor after hackers poisoned an open-source Python library called LiteLLM and walked out with four terabytes of data. So, that's bad. And the worst part? The stolen data might include the actual training methodologies that Meta, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google paid billions to develop. Think about what that means. You can't protect your crown jewels if they're sitting inside a vendor who's connected to your three biggest competitors, all sharing the same open-source tools, all exposed by the same 40-minute window on PyPI before anyone noticed. 🎯 The attack chain here is worth understanding: hackers compromised a security scanner called Trivy, used that access to get credentials for a LiteLLM maintainer, then published two malicious package versions that lasted less than an hour before removal. Forty minutes. That's all it took. 💼 Mercor is not some sloppy startup. It's 22-year-old founders, $500M annualized revenue, and clients at the very top of the AI industry. Sophistication doesn't protect you from a poisoned dependency you never thought to audit. 🔍 The question I'd be asking right now if I were a CISO at any of these labs isn't "were we breached." It's "how many vendors in our training pipeline are running LiteLLM, and did we even know?" Most companies audit their own software. Almost nobody audits the software their vendors use to build the data they're buying. https://hubs.li/Q049HG5Q0 #Cybersecurity #AIRisk #SupplyChainSecurity spc #security #privacy #cloud #infosec #ThirdPartyRisk

Nathan Golan reposted thisNathan Golan reposted thisMichael Field nails something I keep running into with enterprise customers — the CLI vs. MCP debate isn’t really about the protocol. It’s about who the agent is acting for. When you’re a solo dev acting on your own data, CLIs are great. But the moment agents start acting on behalf of other users across teams — with different access levels, different scopes, different compliance requirements — you need protocol-level auth delegation, not credential juggling in application code. That’s the conversation I’m having with nearly every enterprise account right now. Great piece from my colleague. Worth the read. 👇 https://lnkd.in/edNAvBBv

Nathan Golan liked thisNathan Golan liked thisStop doing small AI experiments at the edges; build the governance and platform needed to use AI safely in your core business. If it hasn't happened yet, one day in the near future your CFOs will start asking the important question: "Are we seeing the value from all of our AI spend?" And pressure to show that value will be even stronger when the cost per tokens - which is in large part subsidized today (think of Uber in the early days when rides were $3-4) - inevitably will reflect its real price over time. Many organizations today are deploying peripheral agents in regards to the their core business, to experiment in ways that AI can accelerate their business. But the truth is that those organization will never see the outsized outcomes that AI can bring to the table until they start using AI in their core business. A peripheral use case can never justify the enormous spend that is currently being poured in AI. And here is the chicken-egg problem: organizations know that the core business needs to be transformed with AI in order to get those outsized benefits and justify the AI spend, but their are not ready yet to deploy agents at the core because they either don't trust the non-deterministic nature of agents, they don't have the right governance and infrastructure in place to be comfortable doing that, and also while they have developed early experiments across one or more teams that specialized in AI, they haven't developed an internal platform that allows to scale those experiments from the teams into the enterprise. And sometimes, it's all of the above! So how do we deploy AI in the core business? - We need to establish concrete AI, data and agentic governance. - We need to establish a platform that allows us to manage identify for agents, their permissions, what tools and APIs they can consume, being able to observe and monitor outcomes, and so on. - We need to start transforming the core business little by little with AI and agents that are not going to put the business and the customers at risk. And here at Kong we partner with our enterprise customers to bring that: an AI platform that allows them to start showing outsized value in their core business with AI, to not only justify the AI spend, but also to create an internal platform for AI that can scale our agents and their interactions with APIs, data and LLMs in a governed way. You can learn more about our platform at https://lnkd.in/en-BndJX

We explored how modern AI systems come together in the enterprise, from API gateways to MCP and agentic workloads, and the gap between academic projects and real-world industry challenges. Loved the thoughtful questions on taking these systems into production at scale. Excited to see how this talent will continue to push agentic and LLM-driven systems forward. Looking forward to more conversations like this. Thanks to Parijat Dube for the invite to join his class.

Execution Discipline for CROs and VPs of Sales
2K followers
Most SaaS sales organizations don’t struggle with execution rigor. They struggle with what happens after rigor is introduced. Deal standards improve. Qualification language tightens. Forecast calls sound sharper. But under pressure, something breaks. Coaching collapses back into deal inspection. Managers review what is happening, not why it keeps happening. Skill gaps stay invisible until results flatten. The system holds. The capability doesn’t. Execution rigor without enforced coaching standards eventually eats itself. Most CROs don’t see this as a leadership problem at first. It looks like noise. Or variance. Or a talent issue. By the time it’s obvious, the damage is already done.

Most companies in competitive markets aren’t losing money because of bad sales teams… They’re losing money because of how long it takes to FIND customers who are ready to buy. And the cost of that delay? Far more damaging than you think. In our latest breakdown, we explain why remote BDR teams are becoming the secret weapon in high-competition industries like Energy, Telecoms & MSPs — and how they drastically reduce acquisition costs without hiring internally.
