At Asia's largest retail show, the full house highlighted the immense interest in how research, purchase decisions, and the omnichannel world are rapidly changing. Consumer Search journeys are no longer linear. This redefines how brands connect with their customers. What do these shifts mean? Here are three key opportunities: 🌟 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗲𝗯𝗼𝘅: Understanding New Search Modes. Consumers seek intuitive, visual, and conversational ways to find information. These new interaction points also show emerging commercial intent. For instance: 1 in 5 searches on Google Lens now carry commercial intent, and we're seeing 5 billion visual searches with commercial intent per month (up 2 billion from last year!). 📸🛒 🌟 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Responding to Evolving Curiosity. The lines between purely 'informational' and 'commercial' queries are blurring. My own search for "how to clean my Dyson hair dryer air filter" showed this: a routine maintenance query became a direct brand opportunity. Consider how your brand can thoughtfully engage with customer questions that extend beyond traditional purchase intent. 🤔💡 🌟 𝗘𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘁𝘆: AI as a Tool for Multi-Modal Queries. Shoppers are increasingly asking complex, multi-modal questions, combining images, voice, and text to articulate their needs. AI can be a powerful tool for efficiently understanding and capturing these rich, nuanced customer signals. Notably, AI Overviews are boosting relevant query growth by over 10%. 🤖🕸️ This evolution builds trust and delivers value. 𝗧𝘄𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗿, 𝗶𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲. I thought I'd take a long break. The next morning I was already at my computer, thinking about what to build next. For those who know me, I'm a builder. I've always come up with ideas and executed. Some worked, some didn't. But somewhere along the way the ideas stopped coming, and I'd quietly accepted that maybe those days were behind me. Then this new wave of AI hit, and the builder came back. I've never been more energized in my life. Tomer Steinfeld and I spent months exploring. We went deep on specialized agents, fine-tuning, RL, prompt optimization, RAG, memory. And we kept hitting the same wall. Going from zero to 80% with AI is now easy. Any engineer with a frontier model can ship something that mostly works. The last 20% is brutal. It's where you need real ML skill, the kind that hasn't been commoditized, and that most teams don't have. So we built Apprenta.ai, an autonomous ML team. It watches your AI in production, spots where it's falling short, and runs the optimization itself. In the demo below, you'll see it take a model from 75% to 88% accuracy without a human touching it. Fine-tuning, RL, prompts, RAG, whatever lever the problem needs. Today we're sharing a first look. We're already working with design partners and looking for more. Incidentally, I also just learned about the California gold rush with my 4th grader son :) 𝟭. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗔𝗜 𝘂𝘀𝗲-𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴. Our highest-leverage use of AI wasn't automating tax work. It was generating hyper-personalized tax advice during the sales process (kudos Joshua!). We refined a playbook where prospects got a tailored breakdown of what we'd actually do for them — deductions, planning scenarios, dollar estimates. Advice built with AI but reviewed by a human, sent before the engagement letter so people could see the value before they paid for it. This resulted in stronger trust and made our close rate jump. 𝟮. 𝗔𝗜-𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝘅 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀. There's an abundance of tools promising to do taxes end-to-end with no human in the loop. They hold up for the simplest scenarios, but not beyond. More importantly — most of our clients (caveat - our funnel was biased to these clients) wanted a human to talk through a decision, to be accountable, to catch the thing the model missed. The technical readiness gap and the user readiness are real. Both will close, but not as fast as the demos suggest. 𝟯. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 In our CRM, we tracked when workflows leveraged AI tools and when customers engaged with AI-created content. That data is the only reason we know what actually worked. This gave us a concrete list of patterns to double down on next season. If you're rolling AI into your business and not measuring usage (e.g. clients engaging with AI tools or content) and linking it to impact (e.g. win-rate), you're running blind. Kudos 🌎 Vitaly Gordon for evangelizing this so early! — Net takeaway: AI made us better at being a human-led tax firm. It didn't replace the humans. No SEO background needed. Two things get scored separately: - SEO: how Google finds you - meta tags, crawlability, structured data, content quality - GEO: how AI tools find you - ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity. Different logic than Google. What ranks on one doesn't automatically work on the other. There are millions of builders on Base44. Most of them ship something real and then it just sits there. Someone searches for exactly the tool they built - on Google or inside ChatGPT - and gets nothing. That's what this solves. One thing worth knowing specifically: we now generate llms.txt automatically. It's a file that tells AI search engines what your app does and how to reference it. If a user asks ChatGPT for "best app to manage X" and you built it, you now have a shot at showing up. It scans your app and shows you exactly what's missing: a meta description on your pricing page, structured data that Google expects, an image for when someone shares the link. You click Fix with AI, it writes them for you. Live for all builders now. Under the new Growth section.
