The challenge of working on Windows security: “Oh wow… there are so many places and channels to learn about these features…”
Windows is constantly evolving and growing our capabilities across the platform, including (especially!) security. There are a lot of great resources to learn more about the goodness currently available, and what’s coming. For IT and security teams, in particular, here are some of my favorite resources:
🔍 Windows 11 overview page on Microsoft Learn:
https://lnkd.in/gB7AgMgX – Learn is a great place to learn more about how to use and configure your Windows environment, especially at the feature level (and helps link ideas and features across other solutions as well)
📖 Windows 11 Security Book:
https://lnkd.in/dhshwVkR - This Windows Security Book is updated bi-annually, for IT audiences, by our Windows Security PM and engineering teams. It is one of my favorite places to learn about all the goodness that is in Windows. (It is also over 160 pages when printed… ask me how I know :) )
⭐ Windows Blog:
https://blogs.windows.com/ – Includes the Windows 11, Windows Experience, Windows Developer, Devices, WIP Blog and more. The Windows Experience blog, in particular, is a great place to learn more about the vision of Windows and hear thought leadership from our Windows team.
🪟 Windows IT Pro Blog:
https://lnkd.in/gPXd6W7U - This is *the* main blog page where we announce new features for IT audiences. Think: written by technical authors, for technical audiences, especially at the feature-level.
👥 Windows Tech Community:
https://lnkd.in/gMKf7WVB - Your one-stop-shop for the Windows community, including Discussion spaces, blogs, events and more. I love seeing how partners, IT pros, security teams, Windows experts and others engage in our discussion boards, help answer questions from the community and connect around what is happening in Windows.
At the risk of making too long a list – I will stop at my top 5.
But asking others in my network - what are some of the other channels and forums you use to discuss or learn about Windows security?
