Andrew Duplin reposted thisAndrew Duplin reposted thisMost organizations still treat “on-network” users as trusted by default. That assumption creates unnecessary exposure—open ports, broad visibility, and lateral movement attackers can exploit. Real #ZeroTrust flips that model. Instead of dropping users into shared VLANs, café-style networking treats every user—remote and on-site—as untrusted by default. Access is isolated, infrastructure is invisible, and each user operates inside their own micro-perimeter. 🎥 Watch below to see how this model works in practice—and why segment-of-one access changes the game for modern enterprises. Andrew Duplin liked thisAndrew Duplin liked thisFriday afternoon thoughts. What nobody told me in my early twenties... Be prepared for the day you wake up and realize that almost everything you've done professionally may not have gotten you one inch closer to what you were actually looking for in life. And that is OK. There may come a day when there isn't a number with enough zeros to get you back in a chair, in front of a screen, for 14 hours a day, doing the "hard job." And that is OK. Be prepared for the realization that everything you thought mattered in life doesn't mean a thing, as it turns out. This too, is OK. Maybe even better than OK. My advice in the meantime: • None of this is a competition. The only person you're competing with is who you were yesterday. • Have an opinion. Be prepared to defend it. Be just as prepared to change it. • Take sh*t from no one. • When you truly master something, it is your obligation to teach someone who is struggling. • When you get your first big check, stash it. The rain comes for all of us eventually. • Don't mistake work for life, or your job for your purpose. The math was never that complicated- make a couple bucks, become independent from the machine, and try to find some peace with yourself along the way. Oh, and drink lots of water. More than you think you need to. 🙂 -c.

Andrew Duplin liked thisAndrew Duplin liked thisMost “zero trust” conversations start in the wrong place. They start with users. But the real issue is what happens after they connect. Most environments still: • Drop users onto part of the network • Route traffic where it doesn’t need to go • Expose more than intended behind the scenes Here’s the question going into the weekend: If a credential got compromised… where could it actually go? Not what the policy says. What could it actually reach? Because access isn’t the problem. Exposure is. And a lot of it comes from how access is routed, not just who gets it. The teams ahead of this aren’t asking: “How do we secure users?” They’re asking: “How do we eliminate the network they can land on?” #AppGate #ZeroTrust #CyberSecurity #NetworkSecurity #ZTNA #IdentitySecurity #OTSecurity

Andrew Duplin liked thisAndrew Duplin liked thisThe room had a sound. Legal pads slapping against desks. Balls bouncing off walls. The occasional nine iron. You saw pencils behind ears. Wireless headsets. Desks in buses of four to eight. And cold calls to CIOs that made anyone walking through the room stop and just listen. We were the money shot when the VCs did their tour around the offices. The thumping of house music usually took some explaining. What didn't was the magic of 22 year olds pitching Fortune 500 CIOs on a cold call like they were lucky to hear from them. And they never hung up. Stride & Associates. Bond. Percussion Software. Axceler (Acquired by Metalogix in 2013). Rapid7. If those names mean something to you, you know exactly what I'm talking about. That model touched more companies than most people realize- and more careers than anyone ever counted. Including some of us who had no business being there at 22, and were running a practice in nine months anyway. While everyone else was three years deep into a BDR track going nowhere fast, we were closing. We were managing. We were being handed real responsibility by people who actually believed in developing humans, not just filling headcount. Here's what I know: the people who came out of those rooms were not replaceable. They were built for the moment we're in right now- where every company that leaned too hard into automation is starting to feel the gap where real talent acquisition used to live. Everyone who hired us to grow their ideas into companies is out there right now figuring out how to do it without us. Good luck with that. So by show of hands: who got their start in a "bullpen" when nobody else would take a chance on them? Who carried some of that model into new companies? Who's still working on evolving their own version of it? We're everywhere. And this economy is going to need us- the ones who figured it out with pencils and whiteboards, not twelve different SaaS tools and AI automation doing the thinking for them. See, it was never about the product. Half of what we sold wasn't even that good. We won because we made people believe it would change their lives. And it did- because we said so. We'll pick up on the first ring. We always have. Just like day one. All you have to do is dial.

ISA Cybersecurity's EVP, Enza Alexander, lent her expertise to a recent CBC News feature on the record-breaking credential leak making headlines. CBC asked Enza for practical security advice—here are five tips you can use right now. 1️⃣Use Unique, Strong #Passwords Change immediately any passwords tied to sensitive accounts like email, finance, social media, cloud, or government accounts - especially if you reused them elsewhere (which you should never do!). 2️⃣Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (#MFA) or Passkeys Wherever Possible Add MFA on any account or service that supports it. Where possible, choose a service that uses an authenticator app or hardware security key, not just SMS. MFA is a important defensive measure, even if your password is leaked. 3️⃣Consider Using a #PasswordManager Consider using a password manager: they securely keep track of your credentials, reduce password reuse, protect against phishing, and provide superior defense against infostealer malware. 4️⃣Device Housekeeping Ensure that you have current anti-malware software on your devices to help scan, detect and remove infostealer malware. Apply operating system and application patches promptly to defend against the kinds of vulnerabilities that infostealers exploit. 5️⃣Stay Alert! Regularly check your bank, credit card, and CRA accounts for unusual activity. Be wary of emails, texts, or calls asking for personal info. Even without phishing, attackers may test leaked credentials on popular sites, so watch for unexplained failed login alerts and sudden account lockouts.
