Bala Tiru shared thisHonored to serve as a judge at the Fourth Annual International Business Case Challenge Competition hosted by Santa Clara University’s Leavey School of Business. It was incredibly inspiring to witness students from Santa Clara University and San José State University collaborate in cross-institutional teams and tackle a complex case on Google AI – Gemini. The depth of analysis, structured thinking, and ability to perform under pressure truly stood out. A big thank you to the faculty, organizers, and the Leavey School of Business for putting together such a well-executed and impactful event. These platforms play a vital role in shaping future leaders by bridging academic learning with real-world challenges. Kudos to all the participants for their hard work, teamwork, and thoughtful perspectives — the future is in good hands.Bala Tiru shared thisOn Saturday, February 28, Dr. Ihsen Ketata and I proudly hosted the Fourth Annual International Business Case Challenge Competition at Santa Clara University Leavey School of Business. This year’s event marked an exciting milestone, as we welcomed students from San José State University for the first time, forming eight cross-institutional teams. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the collective effort of everyone involved - from our dedicated IB faculty organizers, Dr. Long Le, Dr. Nik Tehrani, Brian Thomas, whose time, dedication, and extraordinary effort were instrumental, to our talented Leavey Scholar students, who crafted the case on Google AI – Gemini in just eight weeks under the expert guidance of Dr. Long Le, and of course, to the participating students whose teamwork shone brightly under pressure. We are also deeply grateful to our distinguished judges, Virginia Puccio, Angelique Fahy, Carey Chico, Bala Tiru, Dr. Frank Aguilera, Sanjay Saxena, and Kaladhar Voruganti, who bridge the worlds of theory and practice, for their thoughtful questions and constructive feedback, as well as to our keynote speaker, Dr. Ram Bala, who emphasized that the future of enterprise AI is about context, not just intelligence. This competition once again showcased the intellectual depth, collaborative spirit, and impressive strategic and structured analyses of our students. It also reminded us of something essential: Technology adapts. Models evolve. But thoughtful, globally-minded, ethically grounded leaders are what truly shape the future. And that future was in the room! Congratulations to all participants and winners. You didn’t just analyze AI strategy. You demonstrated leadership under pressure. And that is something no algorithm can replicate. Already looking forward to next year.

Bala Tiru liked thisBala Tiru liked this🚀 Still confused between LLMs, RAG, AI Agents, and MCP? Let’s simplify this once and for all 👇 Think of modern AI systems like a human body 🧠💪 ⸻ 🧠 LLM = Brain (Thinks) Large Language Models are trained on massive text data to understand and generate language. What they do well: • Pure reasoning & text generation • Language understanding • Pattern recognition Limitations: • No real-time data • No access to private or external systems • Can hallucinate without context ➡️ LLMs think, but they don’t know beyond training. ⸻ 📚 RAG = Brain + Books (Knows) Retrieval-Augmented Generation enhances LLMs with external knowledge. How it works: • LLM + documents (PDFs, DBs, APIs) • Retrieves relevant context before answering • Grounds responses in real data Benefits: • Fewer hallucinations • More accurate, context-aware answers • Essential for enterprise use cases ➡️ RAG knows, because it can look things up. ⸻ 🤖 AI Agents = Brain + Hands (Acts) Agents don’t just answer — they take action. Core components: • LLM • Planning & reasoning • Memory • Tool usage (APIs, DBs, services) What agents can do: • Take decisions • Execute workflows • Automate tasks • Coordinate multiple systems Used in: • Automation • Copilots • DevOps • Enterprise GenAI systems ➡️ Agents act, not just respond. ⸻ 🔗 MCP (Model Context Protocol) = Nervous System (Connects) MCP is the missing backbone for scalable AI systems. Why MCP matters: • One standard way for models to access tools & data • Unified interface for GitHub, Slack, files, APIs • Secure, consistent, production-ready integration ➡️ MCP connects and coordinates everything. ⸻ 💡 In short: LLM thinks. RAG knows. Agents act. MCP connects. ⸻ 🏗️ Real-world insight (from production systems): • LLM alone = demo • RAG = usable • Agents = powerful • MCP = scalable & enterprise-ready Modern GenAI is systems engineering, not prompt engineering. ⸻ 💬 Where are you right now? • Just LLMs? • Building RAG? • Experimenting with agents? • Moving toward MCP-based architectures? 👇 Drop your thoughts in the comments. On Nov 18, 2025, Salesforce acquired Informatica. 24 days later, we launched a high-performing Informatica customer support agent. Powered by 100K Informatica documents. Most teams would still be ingesting, chucking, and indexing. We weren’t. Why? Because velocity wins. Data 360 handled the heavy lifting. That freed our data team to focus on what actually matters: optimization and outcomes. Link to the full article in comments.

AI Is Rewriting the Rules of Go-to-Market (GTM) As someone who’s spent years aligning strategy, systems, and outcomes across product, engineering, and GTM teams — this article by Dave Birckhead really hits home. In his latest Full-Stack Growth post, “Why AI Requires a New Kind of GTM Role and Org Structure,” Birckhead explains why traditional functional silos — marketing ops, sales ops, customer success ops — can’t keep pace in the AI era. AI doesn’t thrive in isolation. It thrives on shared context, unified data, and connected workflows. Most enterprise AI projects fail not because the models are weak, but because the systems they live in are fragmented. The takeaway: AI value is created when organizations reimagine entire workflows that span the customer journey — using AI as connective tissue, not as point solutions. Birckhead makes a compelling case for a new leadership role: Head of GTM Systems — the orchestrator of data, tools, and AI workflows across marketing, sales, and customer success. The payoff? ✅ Faster innovation ✅ Higher ROI on AI investments ✅ Seamless customer experience ✅ Shared measurement across the funnel Just as SaaS created Marketing Ops and RevOps, the rise of AI now demands GTM Systems Leadership — a discipline that connects, aligns, and scales the way growth truly happens. 📖 Full article here: https://lnkd.in/gU2fa5Jn By Dave Birckhead, Full-Stack Growth (Oct 14, 2025) #AI #GoToMarket #ProductOperations #GTMSystems #RevOps #DigitalTransformation #Leadership #Strategy #Innovation #FutureOfWork #OperationalExcellence #ProductManagement #SalesOps #MarketingOps #CustomerSuccess #B2BLeadership

No one has the right metadata for AI. Not yet. Everyone’s talking about Salesforce acquiring Informatica — and whether its metadata stack is what AI really needs. The hard truth: no one's cracked the playbook for enterprise AI apps that deliver fast, versatile value at scale — yet. We don’t know what the “right” metadata stack looks like. Instead of debating whose stack is better, we must define what good is — as we build. Here’s my practical test. Take this MCP record for a cart page view: "ai_context": { "actionable": true, "entity_types": ["user", "cart", "product"], "potential_operations": ["recommend_cross_sell", "detect_abandonment", "trigger_discount"], "anomaly_score": 0.02 } ...plus UI context, cart state, resource context, resource dependencies and action hints — all embedded in the same record. Can your metadata stack produce this — or is it built for lineage? Can it take an unprocessed log and enrich it for AI — 1️⃣ Programmatically? There won’t be time for humans in the loop. 2️⃣ Fast? Cart page views lose value within seconds. 3️⃣ Efficiently? AI needs millions of events to thrive 4️⃣ Adaptively? “Potential operations” must evolve as the system learns. 5️⃣ Nimbly? MCP is only six months old. Things will change. Most metadata stacks can't - yet. It’s an exciting problem to crack - together. Where are you investing today to make your metadata stack AI-ready?

Enterprise onboarding is still shockingly manual. Decks. Emails. Checklists. CC chains. The best teams are moving onboarding into the product itself and treating invites as a first-class system, not an afterthought. Speed to multi-stakeholder adoption is becoming a real competitive edge.

Many GTM teams hope AI will speed things up but end up doing more manual work. This Relevance AI workshop shows how AI agents can help, automating research, decks, follow-ups, and pipeline ops. Great session for anyone looking to make GTM faster and smarter. 📍 San Francisco 📅 Jan 27 (6–8pm PST) 👉 https://luma.com/zeqf6ouz #AI #GTM #Enterprise #Productivity #AIAgents

Most teams don’t struggle with AI agents because the technology is immature. They struggle because prompting is not treated with design discipline. An agent prompt is not a single instruction. It’s a system of assumptions, constraints, and decision rules. When those aren’t explicit, reliability breaks down fast. That’s why two teams can use the same models and get completely different outcomes. This guide breaks down how to design agent prompts the way operators design systems. Intentionally, repeatably, and with scale in mind. Full breakdown here: https://lnkd.in/gzhuQgRW #Agents #Prompting #AI

Sharing a really insightful interview between Thoma Bravo Founder and Managing Partner Orlando Bravo and CNBC's Sara Eisen and Carl Quintanilla. #AI is a powerful tailwind for software, and his point on specialization is spot on. Not every product will win in AI, the edge comes from pairing great models with trusted, well-governed data and deployments that stand up in the boardroom and with regulators. https://lnkd.in/dzZerW6f

As an Adobe employee and shareholder, I’m frequently asked for my take on the company’s valuation. I think this article explains it best: the market often overlooks the depth and complexity of the enterprise business while overestimating the momentum of VC‑backed companies fueled by the AI hype cycle. https://lnkd.in/eb63sa4A
