Bobby Brannigan shared thisIn today's House Rules Committee hearing, Congressman Jim McGovern shared a powerful message about the importance of food access — and mentioned Mercato alongside the United Way of New York City and our efforts to improve healthy food access. At Mercato, we’re focused on building the infrastructure that enables healthcare organizations and community partners to provide healthy groceries to people who need them most. Whether through Medicaid grocery benefits, SNAP, or Food is Medicine programs, the goal is simple: deliver better health outcomes by improving access to nutrition. 🚀 Proud of our team and our partners for helping make this work possible. #FoodIsMedicine #HealthEquity #Mercato #Medicaid #SNAP #UnitedWay #SocialDeterminantsOfHealth #HealthcareInnovation

Bobby Brannigan shared this🚀 Exciting News! We’ve launched a pilot program in partnership with the West Side Campaign Against Hunger and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to improve access to fresh produce for SNAP users living in urban food deserts. 🥕 Over 13 million Americans live in urban food deserts—areas where residents are 1+ miles from a grocery store, making access to fresh, nutritious food a challenge. 🛒 Through this pilot, SNAP members will receive: ✅ $50/month in fruit & vegetable credits ✅ 1 year of unlimited free delivery from Mercato’s network of 3,000+ local grocery stores 💡 Healthy food access should not be a luxury. Bobby Brannigan posted thisLife Update: I’ve officially moved to Las Vegas! After many great years in San Diego, I’m excited to experience everything Las Vegas has to offer. I’ve moved to a neighborhood called Summerlin, right next to Red Rock Canyon and just 20 minutes from the Strip. I’ve been here for two months now, and I’m really enjoying it. There’s a twin-rink complex, a state-of-the-art fitness center, great restaurants, and a fantastic craft coffee shop—all just three minutes from my house. I highly recommend it for anyone building or working for a company remotely. Life is easy here, with excellent dining, entertainment, and an advantageous tax environment. Shoot me a message when you’re in town!

Bobby Brannigan shared thisMercato is more than a business for me. It’s a mission to empower the little guy, the local grocer, who is passionate about feeding their community and bringing families closer together with fresh, delicious and healthy foods that feed their bodies and warm their hearts. ❤️ These entrepreneurs are consistently fighting forces that are substantially larger than them. 💪 👨🏻 My father is one of them. I am on a mission to give them every edge they can get, not just to succeed in business, but also to help keep communities and families closer together. We all know how challenging that can be. At Mercato, we have built a robust ecommerce platform to meet the operational needs of the local grocer and we continue to roll out programs to give them that extra edge. 👊 Grubhub is one of the largest food delivery platforms in the country with tens of millions of customers. I am proud to offer local grocers this new and substantial opportunity where they can be centerstage. 🎉 ✨ If you’re a local grocery store and you’d like to participate, message me and we will get you up and running right away. Cheers! 🍻Bobby Brannigan shared this

Bobby Brannigan reacted on thisBobby Brannigan reacted on thisHe expanded a veterinary marketplace from 4 markets to more than 50 and increased professional supply by over 200%. This is Jeffrey Bishop-Hill. Jeff is Senior Vice President of Marketplace at Roo, where he leads Business Development, Account Management, and Client Services. His teams represent roughly 60% of the company headcount. He launched an Enterprise Partner Program supporting multi-site operators like Mars, Vetco, and Mission Pet Health. He did not cold call procurement at the top. He built trust hospital by hospital, proved the product worked at 90 locations, and then walked into the enterprise conversation with receipts. Before Roo, Jeff held senior operations roles at Mercato and Soothe. He and I worked together at Soothe when I was CMO and he was running Marketplace Ops. I watched him operate across every function in the building in the same week. Ops. Compliance. Account management. Business development. He is the definition of what I call a Swiss Army Knife operator. Across his career, Jeff has supported more than $120 million in aggregate institutional capital raises and scaled service platforms across dozens of markets including international expansion. On this episode, Jeff breaks down why you should never pick markets by sex appeal. Do the research. Use household income heat maps. Understand logistics density and provider coverage. He explains how going too fast is the most expensive mistake a marketplace can make. 5 markets per quarter max is what worked at Roo. Do it right the first time because going back doubles your investment. If you run a marketplace or you are scaling a platform with a licensed supply side, this episode is a masterclass. I’m thrilled to officially announce our $3M seed investment in Propel People, a company we built inside the 1848 Ventures studio to tackle one of the biggest challenges facing the #construction industry today: the skilled #labor shortage. For small and medium-sized contractors, hiring isn't just a challenge. It's the number one threat to their growth, profitability, and safety. With 94% of contractors struggling to find qualified workers, it’s clear that traditional hiring methods aren't built for the trades. That’s why we built Propel People. It’s a mobile-first, AI-powered hiring platform designed for how construction actually works: in the field. By leveraging smart candidate ranking, instant #SMS-based screening, and a fully #bilingual interface, Propel helps contractors build great crews faster and more efficiently. I’m also thrilled to formally announce that industry veteran Dexter Bachelder is at the helm as CEO. Having worked with Dexter and the team over the last few months, we've already seen the impact of his leadership. His 25 years of experience scaling construction tech companies will be instrumental as Propel People enters this initial stage of growth. This investment reinforces our core thesis at 1848 Ventures: building AI-native companies that solve fundamental pain points for the #SMBs that form the backbone of our economy. A huge congratulations to Dexter and the entire Propel People team on this milestone. We are incredibly proud to partner with you to support the people who build our world. An often overlooked truth in venture: founder health is company health. In our latest Warrior Guide, we partnered with Noah Shanok, founder and first CEO of Stitcher (acquired by SiriusXM), early StubHub exec (acquired by eBay), and Benchmark & NEA-backed entrepreneur, to share the parts of founder life we should talk about more. This guide isn’t a checklist. It’s lived experience, and it's brutal, honest, and practical. From near-burnout during a Series A raise to the daily work of recovering clarity, Noah shared strategies that go deeper than platitudes: 🫂 Building a trusted peer support circle ⏰ Creating routines that actually work in startup life 🧠 Recognizing when to ask for help (and why it’s a strength, not a weakness) If you’re leading a company and finding it harder to lead yourself some days, you’re not alone. This one’s for you! Read the full warrior guide at the link in the comments. Founders- what are the mental resilience habits you’ve built into your journey? We'd love to hear from you.

Today we officially kick off our $2M pre seed round for Salubrum (Backed by Forum Ventures), supported by Forum Ventures, Coeus Collective Ventures, and Draper House Americas. Healthcare companies spend over $30B a year trying to acquire patients. The problem is not media. The problem is timing. Every time a patient approaches a healthcare decision a moment opens. Which doctor to see. Which procedure to pursue. Which treatment to start. For the companies involved in that decision, knowing that moment exists is incredibly valuable. Salubrum (Backed by Forum Ventures) is building the intelligence layer that maps those decision moments across the U.S. patient population. Our system aggregates large healthcare datasets covering 300M+ patient identities and uses them to predict when individuals are approaching important healthcare decisions. That signal can then be used by providers, pharma companies, payers, and other healthcare organizations trying to reach patients at the right time. Our first wedge is patient acquisition for healthcare providers and brands, but the underlying intelligence layer has much broader applications wherever patient behavior influences economic decisions. Over the past months we have quietly built the foundation. • Early pilots validating our patient intent scoring system • Distribution partnerships forming across healthcare platforms • Backed by Forum Ventures, Coeus Collective Ventures, Draper House Americas, NEXT Canada and Metta World Peace Starting tomorrow we will be meeting investors as part of the Forum Ventures showcase. If you are an investor interested in building with us get in touch. Calendly: https://lnkd.in/e5j-VvGC Investor Memo: https://lnkd.in/e5HyemAp

Plaid is built to make it easier for businesses to build and scale financial products that people trust. That trust starts with knowing who you’re working with. As Plaid helps platforms onboard and support millions of businesses, verifying business identity accurately and efficiently is foundational. That’s why Plaid partners with Middesk to automate business verification during onboarding — confirming core business details, reducing manual review, and helping teams make confident risk decisions without slowing down the customer experience. Together, we help Plaid deliver faster onboarding, stronger compliance, and a more durable foundation for growth across the financial ecosystem they power. Attention Telehealth Founders: The $50M Scaling Blueprint Organic is the Bridge. Paid Ads are the Traffic. Build the bridge without traffic, and you’re a lonely architect. Buy traffic without a bridge, and your patients fall into the canyon. Most telehealth operators are "all over the place." They are either organic purists growing at a snail’s pace or "paid-only" founders treating their clinic like a slot machine. The founders who actually scale don’t choose. They integrate. In 2026, scaling is a two-part math equation: -Organic is Trust Infrastructure: It slashes your CAC. When a patient clicks an ad, they should already recognize your authority. This turns a "cold click" into a "warm patient." -Paid is Velocity: If you know $1.00 in = $17.00 of LTV, you aren't "spending." You’re buying market share. People say ads are too expensive. They’re wrong. Ads are only expensive if your organic presence is a ghost town or your systems are leaking. The Tandem Effect is the only way to win the consolidation: 1. Organic proves the message and builds the trust. 2. Paid pours gasoline on that fire to hit scale. Telehealth is no longer a Gold Rush. It’s a game of Unit Economics. If you’re running ads without a Trust Bridge, you’re subsidizing Meta’s profit margins. If you’re waiting on organic reach to hit $10M, you’re just waiting to be absorbed. Build the bridge. Buy the traffic. Own the machine.

Agentic commerce is taking first steps. Demo of Stripe MCP in action from Jeff Weinstein. - open claude - connect stripe (via MCP) - prompt to create payment link done! All in <1 minute. Agentic commerce is very early, but you can already feel the demand building. Everyone I know uses LLMs for most of their product research now, just a matter of time before this all comes together. Founders are often optimistic about growth. Sometimes, that confidence leads to funding ideas that don't fully pan out. Royalty-based growth capital is structured to limit downside risk compared to traditional venture-backed paths. Vik Thapar of Cypress Growth Capital explains that, even if outcomes fall short of early expectations, founders often still exit with meaningful results because they retain the majority of ownership. 🎙️ Tune into the Private Equity Value Creation Podcast: https://lnkd.in/gxkEsH3Z 👇🏽 Find Us Here https://lnkd.in/gTdPMk8P #privateequity #privateequitypodcast #privateequityvaluecreation
