And one of the pain points we've been hearing from builders for months is that agents hit a wall the moment they need to pay for something. Enabling payments requires they spend a lot of time and effort building customized systems for billing, credential management, and compliance. Today, we launched AgentCore payments in preview with Coinbase and Stripe, which removes this undifferentiated heavy lifting. It’s the first managed payment capability purpose-built for autonomous agents. Developers set spending limits, and agents transact within those controls with no open-ended access to funds. What excites me most is what AgentCore payments can unlock like a research agent that can pay for real-time market data on the fly or a coding agent calling paid APIs mid-task. Brent Walsh liked thisBrent Walsh liked this🚀 Today we're announcing AgentCore payments: the first managed end-to-end payment capabilities for autonomous agents, now in preview in Amazon Bedrock AgentCore ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gY4hwExV We heard customers were spending months wiring up bespoke billing relationships with every service provider—managing credentials, enforcing spending governance, and writing orchestration logic across a fragmented landscape. That manual effort was slowing teams down. Together with Coinbase and Stripe, we built AgentCore payments which lets developers focus on what their agents do, not on how they pay. Payments runs through the same identity system, agent gateway, and observability they already rely on in AgentCore, governed by the same controls as every other action an agent takes. Customers like Warner Bros. Discovery, LexisNexis, NAB, Heurist AI, and are looking at how agentic payments fit into their AI strategies, and AgentCore payments gives them the infrastructure to build towards that future. In this walkthrough, I'll show you how AgentCore payments works. The agentic economy is just getting started, and micropayments is the first step in building the infrastructure to power it.

The customer outcomes being delivered, like the Superhuman story below, are truly remarkable. Now if only I can get my own product knowledge to accelerate as fast as Superhuman's ML delivery speeds! Our team has been working closely with customers running agents in production, and one pattern keeps coming up: agents that perform well at launch don't stay that way. Models evolve, user behavior shifts, and quality quietly degrades in ways that are hard to spot and harder to fix. Most teams are still relying on manual cycles of reading traces, guessing fixes, and deploying without systematic validation. 🚀 We solved that with new recommendations, batch evaluations, and A/B tests now available in preview on Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. Customers like NTT DATA and Nomura Research Institute are already seeing the impact. As Masashi Shimizu from Nomura Research Institute put it: "What took weeks of manual prompt iteration is now a repeatable cycle with AgentCore." Here's how these capabilities work to complete the quality improvement cycle for agents: 🟠 The recommendations capability analyzes production traces and evaluation outputs generated by AgentCore to create optimized system prompts and tool descriptions tailored to your specific workload. 🟠 Batch evaluations test recommendations against a pre-defined dataset and report aggregate scores, catching regressions on cases you know matter. Teams can wire this into CI/CD pipelines, so no configuration change reaches production without passing their known-good cases. 🟠 A/B testing lets teams run controlled comparisons between agent versions through AgentCore Gateway, splitting live production traffic at the percentage you configure and reporting results with confidence intervals and statistical significance. When the data gives you confidence, promote the winner. Every recommendation requires your approval before it ships. Brent Walsh liked thisBrent Walsh liked thisToday, we’re launching the Baseten Frontier Gateway: a managed gateway for model labs launching production-grade inference APIs. “When we set out to make our Laguna family of models available to the world, we knew the inference layer would make or break the developer experience at launch. Baseten exceeded our quality and performance bar. The speed from conversion to production-grade, whitelabeled API was unlike anything we had seen from an infrastructure partner.” Varun Randery, PM, Models, Poolside The Baseten Frontier Gateway is a managed routing layer that runs natively on top of Baseten Dedicated Inference. In addition to Baseten’s high-performance inference stack, it provides: → Authentication and authorization: Every incoming request is validated before it reaches the model. This is handled at scale across clouds. → Federated API key management: Baseten provides you with an API to generate access tokens and manage access, rate limits, and usage limits across your hosted models. → Per-user rate and usage limits: Enforce token- or request-based limits per API key to prevent abuse and protect other users from noisy neighbor effects. → Billing and metering: Token or character consumption is tracked per API key. Usage data is sent out-of-band to allow you to plug directly into your billing provider, without affecting inference performance. → White-label branding: Requests are served from a lab-branded URL while routing under the hood to Baseten infrastructure. Some of what we saw, and other highlights, since our last earnings: ▪️AWS is growing at 28% YoY — our fastest growth in 15 quarters — on a very large base. ▪️We exceeded $20 billion annual revenue run rate for Amazon’s chips business — inclusive of Graviton, Trainium, and Nitro — which is growing triple-digit percentages YoY. ▪️Amazon Bedrock continues to scale rapidly — processing more tokens in Q1 than in all prior years combined and 170% growth in customer spend QoQ. ▪️We also expanded model choice, including adding OpenAI models and introducing Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents, powered by OpenAI. ▪️Agents are moving into real systems. With AgentCore, customers are deploying agents as frequently as every 10 seconds. ▪️Our application layer continues to grow. Customers are using Amazon solutions like Connect, Transform, and Quick to automate workflows. At our event yesterday, we launched the new Amazon Quick desktop app, which is already changing the way I work. ▪️We're seeing strong builder momentum. The number of developers using Kiro more than doubled QoQ, and enterprise customer usage is up nearly 10x. We're still early, but the pace of adoption continues to accelerate.
