I know exactly what I am looking for and where I will and will not make compromises. When I find an opportunity that interests me, I take the time to thoroughly understand the scope of the role by researching the company, its operations, and any connections I may have within the organization. Today, I received a rejection email from a company I recently applied to. The communication was standard: a boilerplate message thanking me for my interest but indicating they would not be moving forward with my application. However, this rejection was for a different position than the one I applied for. The role I applied for was global and director-level, with a job description that supported that. The rejection I received was for an “AMER, Lead” position. Typically, I would mark the role as closed on my application tracker and move on. However, this situation gave me pause. While it's understandable that a company may have multiple similar roles open, the rejection did not align with my application. In a job market where candidates face unprecedented challenges, experiences like this can feel particularly disheartening and disconnected. On to the next opportunity.

The site was one of the top feel-good projects of my life. It allowed anyone, for free, to honor anyone who made a difference in their life. The site was a large investment both in time (3years in development) and in personal funding.
