Eric Lachter shared thisI went into marketing in 1992 because my friend Andrea’s Dad Mr. McElligot had two Porsches. One was a red 911 and the other was a black 928. He also had a cabin built by Frank Lloyd Wright with a tunnel in it. My other motivation was when my dad Lou (who was the greatest) said to me, “Eric you can have four years of in state tuition and then you’ll never get another cent from me as long as you live”. So I was like well I don’t want to be a lawyer or a banker, and I need to make the rent because I didn’t want to live at home. I wasn't super into my parents at that time, but we got through it. Since that time I’ve gotten to work on some great campaigns for PlayStation and Ray-Ban and Roku, and some really horrible ones for 3M dental adhesive. In this moment I’m proud to share a new campaign that I just got to work on that I am quite fond of. In my humble opinion it has emotion, storytelling and heart and tells a relevant human story that is needed right now. It almost makes working for a living worth it. Plus, when I think about this product and its marketing, it reinforces for me that I’m really sick of screens. Zoom. Text. The news. Too many screens. This idea of imagination and screen free really resonated with my analog gen X soul. Anyhow, big thanks to Christoph Frehsee and Benjamin Hart and Drew Vernon and Whitney Whitlow and Melanie Werling and Laura Antonacci and Melanie Schniepp and Leah Schiros and Gaelyn Jenkins and all the other millions of people who worked on this puppy. Randi says she wants to knock out a wall so it looks I’ll keep doing this a while longer. I mean how much could it cost to knock out a wall, right? Here’s to the folks putting stories out into the world and inspiring imagination. I tip my hat to y’all. Grateful to have been a part of this one. Thanks tonies® USA. A little box that tells stories to children. Seems fun. Discover Imagination. Good talk, -E

Eric Lachter shared thisHey hi we are hiring for a really cool head of product marketing role. If you like marketing the awesomest children’s products to moms, little boxes that tell the best stories, and launching new stuff, this could be just the ticket for ya. Or, maybe that isn’t your thing but you’re on here posting about the Barbie movie and you know someone who could be a fit. Either way, here’s the link- https://lnkd.in/g4uP6Rj5

Eric Lachter posted thisHi everyone. Writing to share that I am beyond ecstatic that I am starting a new role at tonies® USA as VP Marketing! Tonies is an unbelievably cool company that makes a lovable little box that tells stories to children. Some of the stories include Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Roald Dahl and more. The opportunity to help build and grow this meaningful brand in the USA and to give kids a screen-free experience where they can use their imagination is super fun and right in my wheelhouse of loving consumer products that bring people joy. Thanks to everyone especially Christoph Frehsee who helped me get here. Hugs and more to come soon!

Eric Lachter liked thisEric Lachter liked thisI took a couple of minutes to reflect…. 💭 Twenty-plus years ago, this business card represented an opportunity to explore the wonderful world of marketing, in an industry where going to clubs and drinking several cocktails (responsibly) was considered work 😵 Backstory…A couple of weeks ago, I received a LinkedIn message from someone named Ben 🙏🏾 who found it while clearing out his office. Before throwing it away, he reached out and said: “You have had a great career, and it looks like this role played a significant part in it.” Definitely humbling. It also made me stop and reflect for a second. Throughout my career, there have been incredible highs, difficult moments, industries I knew nothing about, roles that challenged me, countries I had to adapt to, mistakes I learned from, and opportunities that only happened because someone took a chance on me. This card, while simple, represents so much. It was a reminder that everyone starts somewhere. Every experienced leader was once the most junior person in the room, trying to figure things out day by day. I still believe the same things matter now as they did then: stay curious, learn something new every day, be willing to evolve, work hard, do what you say you’re going to do, and treat people well on the way up!! The why is even clearer now: the marketing world , and business in general , is actually very small 🌎 Your actions today have a way of showing up tomorrow. The relationships you build, the reputation you create, and the way you make people feel tend to travel further and last longer than any job title ever will. I’m grateful for the journey so far, and equally grateful for the people who were part of those early chapters. Sometimes, a simple old business card is enough to remind you how far you’ve come, and how important those first steps really were 🙏🏾 Back to work - It Starts Outside ☀️🌑

Eric Lachter liked thisEric Lachter liked thisA few weeks ago, we put a simple message into the world: the best thing you can find online is a reason to go offline. ❤️ In fact, 8 in 10 Pinterest users say we motivate them to try new things offline ⚡️ This spot is the continuation of that story. Brilliantly crafted by the dream duo Mia Madrid and Ricardo Baltazar, it follows two girls who go from dorm-room doomscrolling to a magical night under the stars at a festival wearing looks inspired by their journey on Pinterest exploring decades of festival style: ’60s glam, ’70s bohemia, ’80s edge, ’90s rebellion. Check out the board behind the spot: https://pin.it/1xTcbpcI8 “Get Festive” allllllllmost makes me want to be 18 again (minus all the dreadful insecurity that plagued my teens and 20s!) but all I can think about is how freezing cold I'd be in that forest. 🤣 Though I do wish I'd had Pinterest in high school!! Oh, the things I would have pinned! 📌 👏 Bravo to our ECD Becca Morton and the small, but extremely talented, creative team of Gage Clegg, Jera Mehrdad, Anna Hustler, Julia Sabot, Monica Hernandez and Jaime Justen. And extra big thaks to the herculean job Anh-Thu Le did running the production for this entire body of work across many film assets, an entire OOH campaign and much more alongside Ted Copeland, our amazing producer. 👏 I can't believe what this team pulled off... and just you wait to see what comes next. ❤️

Eric Lachter liked thisEric Lachter liked thisAfter more than 40 incredible years in the corporate world, including over half of that time at Circana (The NPD Group when I joined in 2004), I am officially stepping into full retirement. When I began this chapter of my career in the toy industry, my children were babies (which is exactly why analyzing the toy industry felt like the perfect fit). Today, they are adults with successful careers of their own, a milestone that makes this moment especially meaningful. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to build a career in an industry rooted in imagination, play, and connection…and seriously fun, kind, and generous people. Along the way, I learned so much from colleagues and clients, and I thank you all. While there are far too many people to thank individually, I hold a special place in my heart for Kelly Thacker (my “day one” friend and colleague), Frédérique Tutt (my insights partner across the pond), Ricardo Solar (currently re‑wiring!), and Eileen Brown (now happily retired). You made my time at Circana especially memorable. I am forever grateful to you. And, if you followed me for insights on the toy industry, give a follow to Kristen McLean. The industry is lucky to have her passion and unique insights. I’m ready for what’s next and looking forward to the road ahead. Please stay in touch.

Eric Lachter liked thisEric Lachter liked thisProud to finally share what we've been building these past few months, a platform aiming to completely change how consumer goods get made. Alongside Adam Shoshani and Esmat Nawahda, we've built Genpire - the agentic platform that lets anyone, from an independent brand to an enterprise team, go from an idea to factory-ready products and collections in minutes. We're tackling apparel, accessories, footwear, jewelry, furniture, toys, and more, basically any category where a designer hands off to a factory. During our beta, an LA designer shipped her evening dress line, a Brazilian retailer developed an iPhone case collection, an Alaska-based (!) kidswear brand sampled a full line, and enterprise design and sourcing teams accelerated their tech pack workflow, all using our beta product. Going from design to manufacturing is a workflow full of friction, handled manually or with legacy software that doesn't come close to the speed of AI-native tools we now take for granted elsewhere. Today marks the beginning of our journey. Follow us here or on X for what's next. Most important - we're hiring in TLV. If you come from apparel, lifestyle, retail, or consumer goods, we want to talk to you. And if you're an OEM, sourcing agency, or manufacturing partner, reach out, we'd love to show you how we can work together. Noa Dichno Bar Goldray

Consumer facing brands, of course, are all in on influencers. They understand that in today's omnichannel world, it's critical to engage with them. AI is today's biggest social influencer and understanding that shift is job one for today's communications teams. I found the USC Center for Public Relations and We. Communications study on seeing AI as a brand ambassador particularly compelling and encourage others to take a look at this fine (and brief) piece of work!

Everyone is trying to scale louder in 2026. More content. More launches. More noise. But what if scale isn’t about doing more… It’s about creating better rhythm? In Episode 66 of The Digital Shift™, Jessica shares what really happened when we committed to running free one-hour workshops multiple times a month — consistently. No random bursts. No “launch energy.” No chaos. Since October, workshops have become one of the most powerful growth levers inside Self Made. Here’s what changed: • Trust accelerated • Lead quality improved • Sales stabilized • Revenue stopped feeling emotional Because in a trust recession, passive content isn’t enough. Live teaching creates proximity. Proximity builds belief. Belief drives decisions. And when you pair workshops with the right systems and automation? That’s when they truly scale. If you want predictable revenue, you need predictable cadence. This episode is for the ambitious woman ready to grow with clarity and structure — not hustle. 🎧 Episode 66 is live. Listen now and rethink your growth strategy for 2026.

Energized after being invited to join a panel at last week’s Brand Storytelling conference in Salt Lake City, I feel genuinely optimistic about the future of storytelling, particularly in podcasting, where connection and trust are paramount. Here are a few ideas I keep coming back to: • Creators are thriving. Brands are starting to understand the power of truly integrating into creator-led content, rather than just sponsoring it. • Audiences are attracted to creators they feel a deep connection with the voices they trust, support, and want to engage with. • Traditional media remains a vital benchmark, providing the reach, scale, and measurement that enhance creator-led campaigns. In podcasting, the opportunity is evident: when creator authenticity aligns with premium media, storytelling not only reaches audiences - it resonates. Excited for what lies ahead at SiriusXM Media!

What's the ROI on creator-centric brand storytelling? Honestly? Depends on what you're measuring. We just wrapped another LIFER STORIES video series with professional skateboarder Darren Navarrette and S1 Helmets. Two days at City Heights Skatepark in San Diego. No script for enders. No pressure for NBDs. Just Darren skating, talking about his 30+ years in pads, and why he calls them "battle gear." The approach is stupidly simple: let the session unfold, ask real questions, don't preach about helmets, and maintain cinematic look and feel. The numbers: 34K organic views aren't breaking the internet. But here's what's actually happening—Positive WOM (word of mouth) Sales reps are opening meetings with these stories instead of spec sheets. Retail staff quote Darren weeks later. The content sticks because it doesn't feel like advertising. Retailers tell us it strengthens their trust in the brand — they see S1 actually supporting riders, not just using them for clips. Team riders have something to unify around that doesn't demand they sacrifice their bodies for a viral moment. And people are rewatching. Multiple times throughout the month. The part that's tricky: What's the value when your sales conversations lead with story instead of specs? When retail partners feel genuine brand alignment? When your team actually wants to rally around the content? In lifestyle brand spaces, the metrics that matter most don't always translate to traditional ROI. They show up in relationships, recall, and how people talk about you when you're not in the room. We're not chasing views with this series. We're building something that speaks authentically, addresses tough questions other companies won't touch, and it never gets product preachy. Shoutout to my friend and creative filmmaker, photographer and co-producer on the project, Jamie Mosberg Need help with youth and action sports marketing? Short-form video clips are transforming how audiences engage with iHeartMedia’s content, acting as both a discovery engine and a gateway to deeper, long-form listening. That’s why we’re excited to introduce an innovative new feature in the iHeart app from the iHeart Digital Experience Team. Through incredible collaboration across our product, marketing, and engineering teams, with support from Overlap (Jonathan Baer, Casey Traina) and Genuin (Matt Wurst), we’ve brought short-form video directly into the iHeart app with iHeart Highlights. This new feature makes it easy to discover the best moments from iHeart’s top stations, shows, and podcasts, all in one app. It delivers a smarter, more seamless experience that drives new content discovery, keeps listeners coming back, and empowers users to share exclusive moments from their favorite creators. Special shoutout, congratulations, and thanks to Anthony Molaee and Alex Siordian for leading the charge on the workflows that brought this to life, and to Rob Rowe, Ryan Mannion and all the dedicated team members of the product and engineering teams that built this in record speed. So download the iHeart app today and give it a shot! Let us know what you think.
