Ever since Apple announced their new OS design language using "Liquid Glass", it’s like a floodgate opened. Suddenly, everyone wants their website to have that same glossy, transparent, layered look. Even this morning when I opened Figma I was greeted with a popup announcing their UI kit for it, so now designers everywhere are mocking up sites with glassy gradients and frosted overlays. It takes me back to the days when a brief would come in that simply said: “We want our website to be just like Apple.” Back then, that meant clean, minimalist, lots of white space, but now it means Liquid Glass. With this new wave of "I want it to be just like Apple" I do worry about heading towards another era where every site starts to look the same again. Trends are great, but the individual identity of your business matters more, and will probably outlive the trend.
