AI agents are only as useful as the data they can act on. Streaming data matters because business does not happen in batches. Customers, transactions, risks, systems, and operations are constantly changing, and AI needs that live context to make better decisions. That is where Confluent and watsonx Orchestrate come together: real-time intelligence feeding coordinated action. It is a practical step toward the AI operating model IBM highlighted, moving beyond pilots and productivity tricks into AI that can actually run across the business with speed, scale, and trust. Dinesh Nirmal reinforced why operationalizing AI is now the real challenge for enterprises. His point about the explosion of applications, agents, and AI-generated code and therefore the need for visibility, governance, compliance, and trusted automation really stood out. Mel polled the 30 million people who follow her, and the statistics were heartbreaking. 79% of people said it is very hard to make new friends right now. 73% admitted they cancel plans because they would rather stay home and be alone. I sat there staring at those numbers thinking… this is not just a social issue anymore. This is a human connection crisis. After years of building communities for women and hosting thousands of in-person events, none of this surprises me anymore. Because I have seen something most people don’t talk about openly: People say they want connection… but then avoid the very situations where connection is built. We cancel dinner. We stay home. We scroll instead of calling. We isolate instead of risking rejection. And underneath so much of it is fear. Fear we won’t fit in. Fear we’ll feel awkward. Fear everyone else already has their people. I cannot tell you how many women I have watched sit in their cars before an event, almost turning around and going home. And then two hours later? They are laughing. Exchanging numbers. Making plans. Realizing they are not alone. Friendship is rarely built in comfort. It is built in courage. Meaningful connection requires emotional bravery. You have to go first. Introduce yourself. Risk discomfort. Keep showing up before it feels natural. And I say this with love: nobody is coming to magically create your next chapter for you. You have to participate in your own life. A text. A conversation. An invitation. Showing up one more time instead of canceling. That is how lives change. One courageous decision at a time. Community doesn’t just happen. It’s intentional. And maybe the real question is not: “Why is everyone so lonely?” Maybe the better question is: “Are we willing to become courageous enough to connect again?” Because women are not broken. They are hungry for belonging. Hungry to feel seen. Hungry for real connection in a world full of surface-level interaction. But first… someone has to be brave
