    Education

    Created and organized Nichibei Club for Japanese students studying at Western Washington University. This program was designed for Japanese students to experience American rural lifestyle. Students were brought out to our farm four evenings every week for 36 weeks. Activities included horseback riding in September, October, April and May and overnight skiing in Whistler in the months of February and March.

    Officiated weddings in Japanese for wedding chapels at several chapel locations in Karuizawa, Japan on weekends for a Japanese friend who had started a Wedding Chapel business. At the time Western-style or "Christian" weddings were very popular. I performed 2 to 3 weddings per day every weekend for 5 months while my family and I toured Japan during the week days.

But if I asked a Westerner the same question, would they know that the answer is eight?

    In this book we will take a look at the gospel message embedded in the symbols of the Chinese characters that the Japanese use in the verse in Matthew 11:28, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest."
