Raj Patil shared thisToday marks the end of an incredible chapter of my journey with Orion. After eight amazing years as CEO, I am passing the torch for the next chapter, immensely proud of all we’ve built together. I will transition to an advisory role for the company and One Equity Partners. In 2016, I became the CEO of Orion Innovation. At the time, it was a passionate team of 1,000 with tremendous growth potential. Our ambitions were bold, our journey exhilarating—what a ride it's been! At 6,000 people, we are now 6X larger and 4X bigger in revenue. We’ve gone from 3 locations to a global footprint across LATAM, Europe and Asia and have completed half a dozen strategic acquisitions. We have created an agile, innovative, and scalable organization to solve our clients' most complex business problems. We are a leading player in the product engineering and enterprise digital transformation space. To my incredible team, how lucky I am to have something that makes this moment bittersweet. It’s been a privilege to work with an amazingly talented team like you. Your dedication, pursuit of excellence, and resilience is the heartbeat of Orion. We innovated, we overcame major challenges, and we never stopped delivering the highest value to our clients. Thanks to you, Orion shines in our industry. To our clients and partners, I am grateful for your belief in Orion’s capability to consistently stay at the cutting edge of technology and develop world-class solutions. More importantly, thank you for your trust, support, and friendship. As I hand over this exceptional platform to Brian Bronson, I am assured that Orion has a bright future. As for my next chapter, I’ll be spending time as an advisor to Orion and One Equity Partners, ready to embrace new opportunities and challenges that keep me inspired.

Raj Patil liked thisRaj Patil liked thisI’ve spent my life at the intersection of sport and business, but few events have made a mark like this. Last weekend I played the HSBC invitational at Zion Hills, where I had the rare honour of playing 18 holes with a "living legend": Kapil Dev. The world knows the fire he brought to the pitch, but seeing that same intensity on the golf greens was a revelation. We started off being cordial, taking pictures at every opportunity. 4 holes in, he said: "I want us to have a competition. One against three. You three play as a team against me." The competitive fire was kicking in. By a stroke of sheer luck or will, I managed to shoot 8-over. We teed off at 12:30 PM with the midsummer sun at 42 degrees. Kapil Ji, the purist he is, did not ride the buggy once. I walked alongside him, whenever I could. Really fortunate to get a one-on-one putting and bunker play tutorial. His humility left a lasting impression. My mind was filled with questions about cricket, but I ended up learning life lessons in leadership instead. To put it in LinkedIn lingo, here are the "takeaways" from this "masterclass" on the fairway: 1. Fire doesn't age. It rages on. Watching Kapil Paaji proved the "drive" to compete doesn't decay. Whether you are 17 or 67, keep the fire to excel burning. Feed it. Fan it. Let it refine you. 2. Integrity can't be postponed. He settled our friendly ₹500 wager right on the 18th green. Accountability knows no lag time. In management, character is revealed in how quickly you own a result. Settling your "debts"—apologies, deadlines, or wagers—immediately and with grace builds trust that no title can buy. 3. The Endurance to Evolve. Watching a master of one craft apply himself with equal passion to another is the ultimate lesson in resilience. It takes depth of character to remain a student of the game when the world already knows you as a master. Staying relevant means having the stomach to start at the bottom of a new mountain. 4. Intensity on demand. Golf is hours of walking punctuated by seconds of single-minded focus. You don’t need to be strung up at 100% every second. You need the ability to stay present during the "walk" and the discipline to summon all forces within to execute when it’s time to take the shot. 5. Respect every "Senior Pro" Winning the match didn't make me a master. In the infinite game, there are no scoreboards. What counts is how we play. Play fair. Play with fire. Respect those who weathered the storms before you. Disruption does not require disrespect. Thank you, Kapil Paaji, for the camaraderie and the fanboy moment. As one who grew up watching you on DD, all I can say is "Paaji ka jawab nahi". #Leadership #Sportsmanship #Perseverance #AgelessSpirit #GolfLife #KapilDev #ExecutiveGrowth #ManagementLessons

Raj Patil liked thisRaj Patil liked thisDeeply honoured to receive the University of Chicago Alumni Award for Professional Achievement. Dating back to 1941, this alumni honour has included at least 14 Nobel laureates across economics, physics, chemistry, and medicine, including Paul Samuelson, Herbert Simon, Gary Becker, Myron Scholes, and Claudia Goldin, alongside thinkers and leaders such as Carl Sagan, James Watson, Philip Kotler, and Madeleine Albright. What makes this especially meaningful to me is that the work being recognised was undertaken primarily from India and for India. This honour belongs not just to me, but to every Indian who believes our country can be a source of global ideas. I remain deeply grateful to Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur , Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, University of Chicago, and Indian School of Business for shaping my intellectual journey, Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi for the opportunity to serve India, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar for his invaluable guidance since my PhD days at the University of Chicago, my PhD advisors Raghuram Rajan and Luigi Zingales, teachers and mentors, and my parents and family.🙏

This article, co-authored by Vardaan Ahluwalia and me lays out India's significant new Research Development and Innovation Fund initiative in the context of other successful interventions: when governments and the private sector work together, they can make a transformative difference to deep technology entrepreneurship. Equally, initiatives to help manage financial risk should be followed by structural reforms in areas ranging from intellectual property regulation, ease of clearances for start-ups, tax rationalization in capital gains and options that helps start-ups attract talent, and a visa regime that attracts leading global researchers. https://lnkd.in/gk92YSZa

Google is building its largest data center outside the United States — right here in Vizag, India. A $15-billion AI hub that promises to transform India’s digital future. But behind the shiny promise lies a serious question: What is the cost of this AI dream in terms of real-world resources? The intersection of AI and climate is a complex topic, no doubt. We have tried to unpack some parts of it in a video that looks at the environmental impact of this data center on the Vizag landscape and it's people. https://lnkd.in/g8aTXfJg

Spending time at #IndiaAIImpactSummit2026 this week and one theme keeps surfacing. As organizations move from experimentation to operationalization, the focus is shifting toward embedding AI into workflows, service platforms, and governance architectures that can sustain trust at scale. Good discussion with ServiceNow COO & CPO Amit Zavery on how partnerships like this help operationalize that shift across enterprise environments. Scaling AI is no longer just a technology challenge. It is an operational and governance one. cc Babak Hodjat Poornima Sathy Geetha Saravanan Alankar Srivastava Praveen Tanguturi, Ph.D. Ashfaque Khan

Yesterday’s encounter that reminded me why protocols matter more than platforms. Had an inspiring conversation with Rajeesh Menon, whose work spans the entire digital infrastructure ecosystem that’s quietly revolutionizing how we think about systemic change. From EkStep Foundation to Beckn Open Collective, Rajeesh embodies something crucial: building systems that serve rather than surveil, that empower rather than extract. What excites me most is exploring how our community-driven approach (SAOcommons) to human capital indexing (WellbeingProtocol) could plug into this broader ecosystem of digital public / common goods. The goal? Value redistribution that’s signal-based and equitable rather than platform-captured. But this conversation also surfaced some critical questions I’m wrestling with: 1) “Emission” vs “Collection” of data 2) Deep Thinkers' Collective. 3) Anti-hive-mind design - How does TheInternetOfValue preserve individual agency while enabling collective intelligence? 4) “Weaponising” context ? If you’re working on systems that put livelihoods with dignity at the center, Rajeesh Menon is building something remarkable. Worth following his journey. Thanks for the active listening and questions, Rajeesh!

When a workplace gets recognized as a #GreatPlaceToWork again, it always creates a real sense of pride and excitement across the organisation. In my experience, recognitions like this are never only about policies or programs. They reflect the everyday experience people create together. At Delta Technology Hub, the culture people experience aligns closely with the values Delta Air Lines believes in, where respect for people, pride in the work and genuine collaboration shape how teams operate. Yet culture never travels through presentations or statements on a wall. It comes alive through everyday moments i.e. teammates stepping in to help each other, leaders making time to listen, and teams coming together to solve problems for our customers. Over time those small actions add up and create the workplace people talk about with pride. In my opinion, that collective ownership and positive spirit across employees is what keeps #DTH such a wonderful place to work. Congratulations to everyone across DTH who brings this culture alive every single day.

Is private AI the key to fearless adoption in regulated industries? This was one of many insightful perspectives shared by Vinayak Kadam, EVP & CBO at Enkefalos Technologies, during our latest Backstage Talks at GenAI Week Silicon Valley 2025. Vinayak revealed how his team is reshaping the way enterprises embrace AI, making it accessible, affordable, and secure, especially for sensitive sectors like insurance. Here’s what stood out from our chat: 🚀 The rising importance of private and vertical AI solutions for regulated industries. 🔒 How GenAI Foundry enables secure and collaborative AI without compromising data privacy. 📈 Real-world impact: Underwriters using their private LLM can handle ten cases instead of two. That’s a 5X productivity boost. 🤝 Specialized business solutions built on major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google. 💡 Enkefalos’ unique approach includes free consulting and roadmap development for the first 8 to 12 weeks, making AI accessible even for smaller enterprises. Vinayak’s vision of democratizing AI adoption really resonated with me. As he said, “Ultimately, every company has to get into AI. If not today, tomorrow.” I think that’s deeply relevant and timely. If you're navigating your own journey toward AI transformation, this conversation is definitely worth your time. Watch our insightful conversation attached below. I'm excited to hear your thoughts! #SiliconValleyVoicesOfAI #PrivateAI #GenAI #DataPrivacy #EnterpriseAI #InsuranceTech #AITransformation #VerticalAI #BackstageTalks #GenAIWeek2025 GPTDAO

ExecutiveRoundtable.org, Chairman’s Highlights! We catch up with Namita Jindal, Chief Information Officer at CentralSquare Technologies, a leader in public sector software solutions. Namita has been instrumental in driving innovation and operational excellence at CentralSquare, leveraging her extensive experience in business strategy and technology. Here, she shares her insights on the business climate for the rest of 2025 and the key factors influencing the industry. Namita: "At CentralSquare, we are deeply committed to enhancing the digital presence and operational efficiency of public sector agencies. Our mission-critical software solutions, ranging from Computer-aided Dispatch and Next-Generation 911 to Finance, Asset Management, and Permitting, are designed to help public agencies and their communities flourish in new ways The public sector is increasingly recognizing the value of digital transformation, and we are well-positioned to support this shift with our comprehensive suite of solutions. What excites me the most is the potential for innovation in areas such as artificial intelligence and data analytics. Our Generative AI initiatives are already showing promising results in improving our customer experience while we continue to innovate. We are investing heavily in cybersecurity and compliance to address the unique challenges of the public sector, including privacy concerns related to GAI. Ensuring that we have the right talent and resources to drive this innovation is essential. The shifting landscape of talent and staffing, especially with the rise of hybrid work, requires us to be agile and adaptive. Artificial intelligence versus human intelligence is another area of interest. At CentralSquare, we believe in giving back to the community. Encrypted AI Inference is about to reshape the AI infrastructure stack. Every AI model today requires decrypting data to process it. That single constraint has kept the most sensitive workloads off-limits to AI. FHE changes this. AI runs inference on encrypted data. No decryption. No exposure. Ever. Mirror Security and Yotta Data Services Private Limited just partnered to make this production-real — Mirror's FHE engine running natively inside Yotta's Shakti Cloud, India's largest sovereign AI infrastructure with 16,000+ NVIDIA GPUs powering ~75% of the country's AI compute. What makes this game-changing: this isn't FHE as a software layer sitting on top. It's encrypted inference integrated at the GPU hardware level — ciphertext computation running on NVIDIA's accelerated compute stack at production speed. FHE has existed in research for years. Running it on 16,000+ GPUs at sovereign cloud scale is an entirely different thing. Congratulations to Pankaj Thapa, Aditya Narayana K and the Mirror Security team. The timing is perfect — sovereign AI governance and data localisation mandates are creating exactly the market conditions where this technology becomes essential. Bigger news to come.
