Last week, our city didn’t just host the National Football League (NFL) Draft. We created a seamless, safe, and high-energy experience for a record-breaking 805,000 attendees over three days. From the first welcome at Pittsburgh International Airport to the official handoff to Washington, D.C., the energy never wavered. This was more than a major event. It was a powerful showcase of Pittsburgh’s spirit, capability, and hospitality. The 2026 NFL Draft activated every corner of our community: • Downtown & Market Square served as a hub for fan engagement and celebration, welcoming tens of thousands throughout the week • North Shore & Acrisure Stadium anchored the primary footprint, drawing massive crowds and hosting unforgettable moments, including a Guinness World Record-breaking CPR training with the American Heart Association • Hazelwood Green & beyond extended the impact deeper into the community through youth clinics, Special Olympics engagement, and the redistribution of an estimated 60,000 pounds of food to neighbors across the region. I showed up battling a severe flu and had lost nearly 20 pounds. It felt like everything I had worked for was slipping away in real time. But here’s the thing, adversity doesn’t define you unless you let it. I was drafted in the 10th round, 261st overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Not exactly the path most people dream about. But grit, perseverance, and a Find A Way mindset turned that moment into an 8-year NFL career. MPF is a non-profit, volunteer organization that supports projects in Moraine State Park. MPF has helped to develop important wildlife restoration projects like BATitat, Osprey and Barn Own Reintroduction Programs, along with the development of the McDanels launch area. MPF operates Preston's Pearl, an enclosed 38 passenger pontoon boat…
I am honored to continue to serve as a MPF Board Member and Volunteer Captain on the new Preston's Pearl (Formerly known as the Nautical Nature) Tour Boat. MPF is a non-profit, volunteer organization that supports projects in Moraine State Park. MPF has helped to develop important wildlife restoration projects like BATitat, Osprey and Barn Own Reintroduction Programs, along with the development of the McDanels launch area. MPF operates Preston's Pearl, an enclosed 38 passenger pontoon boat that offers interpretive boat tours around Lake Arthur. Programs on the boat teach about the wildlife and geology of Moraine State Park and the development of Lake Arthur.

Effective November 2025, the electric supply rates for these classes will increase by $0.06049 per kWh, rising from $0.12078 to $0.18127 — an unprecedented 50% hike. What this means in real terms for customers: For a business using 100,000 kWh per month, the electric bill will increase by approximately $6,049 per month during November, December, and January. Implementation of Verizon's 2020 notice of the decommissioning of copper wire services (under notice provisions set forth by the NYS Public Service Commission in its October 2022 Order), began AUGUST 1, 2025! Verizon has followed suit of many of its competitors, such as Windstream & MetTel , by raising rates for ISDN PRI , T1 & measured business services by 200% or more. OpenCape BEAD Update: You may or may not be aware, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has received $147M in Federal BEAD funds (Broadband Equity Access Deployment). OpenCape met the revised midnight deadline yesterday and has applied for funding for Provincetown, Orleans, Chatham and Bourne.
