Lyle Troxell reposted thisLyle Troxell reposted thisI’m exceedingly proud to finally be able to announce that the Trailblazer Studios sound team had the opportunity to provide audio post for the new Netflix documentary Behind the Curtain: Stranger Things: The First Shadow. The film, produced by MakeMake Entertainment and directed by longtime friend and collaborator Jonathan Halperin, takes a behind the scenes look at the West End stage production of the play which is now on Broadway as well. I’ve been a huge fan of the Stranger Things series since watching the first minute of the first episode almost 10 years ago so you can’t imagine my excitement when the call came in from Jon to work on this documentary. Thanks to my lean but ferocious sound team Willie Elias (dialogue editing/sound design/re-recoding mixer), Sam McDonald (sound editing) and Anita H. (sound coordinator) and special thanks to Terry Leonard and Stacy Kessler Aungst from MakeMake for giving us this opportunity, and to the post team at Netflix for their continued support of and trust in us. Watch Behind The Curtain: Stranger Things: The Last Shadow now on Netflix! https://lnkd.in/e_N6PXeC #StrangerThings #Netflix #TrailblazerStudios

Lyle Troxell reposted thisLyle Troxell reposted thisThe “Self-Made” Myth Ever hear someone say, “self-made”? In tech—or life—it always makes me chuckle. Nobody builds, grows, or succeeds alone. I know I didn’t. Here’s what got me here: • In software 💻, teammates stayed up late helping me debug, designers made sure our product looked great 🎨, and cloud providers kept everything running smoothly ☁️. • In life ❤️, family picked me up after every stumble, no questions asked. • At work 🏢, mentors gave me the advice I didn’t know I needed. • Everyday wisdom 📚? Books, podcasts, and open-source communities—they’ve all shaped my journey. Even the little things we don’t notice: The food we eat 🍎—someone had to figure out what’s safe. The apps we love 📱—teams came together to make them seamless. The truth? Success isn’t about being “self-made.” It’s about collaboration, learning, and leaning on others when you need it. #CollaborationOverCompetition #Gratitude #TechCommunity #Leadership #GrowthMindset

Lyle Troxell liked thisLyle Troxell liked thisI'm happy to announce my new role as chair of Bike Santa Cruz County. It’s an exciting, interesting and dynamic time for alternative transportation. The rapid adoption of e-bikes has enabled many more people to use bikes to get around. More kids are biking to school, more parents are “cargo biking” their kids to school, and "grown-up people" are experiencing the joy of bikes as a car alternative to run errands, food shop and more. Kids biking to school means fewer cars on the road at critical times, and it enables autonomy and freedom for them! Bike safety on our streets is not just a “nice to have” anymore, it’s essential and will enable more and more people to choose alternatives to driving which ultimately helps both bicyclists and drivers. During my two years on the board, we’ve been working on rebuilding the organization from the Covid years downturn. We’ve built up our donor systems, improved accounting, started a membership and business partner programs, started an extensive survey and data collection program, hosted regular public rides in Watsonville and Santa Cruz, and strengthened our advocacy capabilities and relationships with local government. And, we are looking for a few new board members! Do you want to be more engaged with local issues, local officials, have a real impact on our community, and make the streets safer for everyone? You don’t need to be a hardcore cyclist or have previous board experience; we are seeking people with a diversity of biking experience (parents who cargo bike their kids to school, high schoolers who bike, weekend bicyclists, etc) and geographically distributed in the county. We’re especially looking for a treasurer. If this even seems vaguely interesting to you, or you know someone who you want to volunteer for this position, reach out to me!

Bring everybody who has loved you with you." and I might have taken it quite literally this time. Maya was talking about taking the confidence that all that love brings out for you, and I must say looking back, my family's love has been with me in every classroom, event, interview, and activity I have done. It has given me the privilege to try and not be scared of the failure. We don't write thesis for bachelors in CS at Columbia, but I dedicate my graduation to my grandma who did not get the chance to go to school, my mother who was the first woman in her village to graduate high school and even go on to do Bachelors & Masters after having had 5 children. I dedicate it to my Uncle who played the role of a father and believed in me no matter what, my late father and late grandfather, and to my whole family who put education over everything else. Lastly, I dedicate this to all the women back home. It is a privilege to be able to show that you can indeed break through, even from a small country like Kosovë. I was very lucky to be able to show my family Butler Library where I stayed awake until 5am trying to debug Linux, corners where I have cried and doubted my major, where I partied and enjoyed my college years. I showed them Central Park, walked Brooklyn Bridge and quiet wholesomely the Netflix office. I believe they miss NYC more than me now :D

“Bolt-on” security doesn’t work for AI. Most security programs were built around adding controls after systems exist. That breaks down fast with AI. When models touch data, workflows, users, and decisions simultaneously: You can’t secure them in isolation You can’t rely on legacy DLP or point tools And you can’t prioritize risk without full context AI security isn’t about adding another layer. We spoke to Shannon Murphy from TrendAI about understanding how assets, data, identity, and behavior connect in real time. Without context, security teams don’t just miss risk. They get overwhelmed by it. Full episode in the links below! #AISecurity #AIGovernance #CyberSecurity #SecurityLeadership #EnterpriseAI

Luma AI just dropped Ray3 with an impressive demo promising 4K HDR video. I decided to put it to the test. No cherry-picking, just raw results from 2 hours of use. Site: https://lumalabs.ai/ray 4k download link to watch without compression: https://lnkd.in/eBfte2gX ✨ What stood out: -Interface is smooth you can queue shots and run multiple variants at once. -Cheap to run half of my $30 credit gave me ~100–150 generations, draft mode is a great feature! -Camera motion looks strong. -Fast turnaround. ⚠️ Where it struggles: -720p looks solid, HD is fine but 4K falls apart. The upscale looks more like low-poly CGI than real 4K. -Prompts aren’t followed well. Even simple prompts like “static camera” took multiple retries. -Every usable shot took 6-10 variants. -Close-ups look good, but medium/wide shots suffer from the usual AI quirks. 🔥 What really annoyed me The tech demo on their website looks like absolute fire. Trying to recreate those shots was a bit of a failure. Sure, I managed to get the camera motion and scene in there but only after a shotgun approach of endless iterations. And even then, the image quality never came close to their demo material. It suffers from the same issue as Veo3: amazing marketing, but the actual results require endless “slot machining.” 💡 Takeaway Ray3 has potential the speed and pricing are great but right now, Seedream still delivers stronger results overall for a cheaper price. Curious if anyone else here has tried Ray3 yet. What’s your take? 4k link: https://lnkd.in/eBfte2gX https://lumalabs.ai/ray https://x.com/lumalabsai

Bending reality in mixed reality (with the Meta Quest 3) Exploring some ideas for mixed reality interactions in this real-time capture. This experiment leverages the Camera API so digital objects can visually acknowledge and interact with their surroundings. The project explores environmental awareness: using refraction based on passthrough to ensure virtual objects feel integrated in the room, while adding liquid-like displacement to create a sense of wonder. Particle-based VFX sample the underlying passthrough color to transform the user's hands and space; spatial mapping then enables the entire room to transition into a virtual environment grounded in the physical. The goal is to see how the digital world can absorb the physical environment rather than just sitting on top of it, making the transition between the two feel less like a seam and more like a fluid state. #MetaQuest3 #MixedReality #XR #SpatialComputing #ComputerVision #InteractionDesign

Peak season does not break studios. Disconnected systems do. When tools do not work together, small errors turn into big problems fast. Rework piles up. Data gets messy. Teams feel the pressure. That is exactly why we built the Captura ecosystem, which is built around how high volume studios actually work. One system. Less friction. More confidence. Read the full blog and see how studios are protecting trust and unlocking growth this season. If you missed this the first time, here is your catch-up. 👉 Read the blog: https://bit.ly/3MeIr0v

3D printing just lost its chains. It happened at Disneyland Paris. Coperni teamed up with Disney Research to show us how. They call it Rapid Liquid Printing (RLP). The process is wild. Most printers have to build layer by layer. They fight gravity the whole time. RLP is different. You print directly inside a gel bath. The gel holds the object in place while it forms. You can basically draw in mid-air. The tech details: → Prints in all directions at once → No supports needed → Works with soft rubber and silicone This fixes the biggest drag on production. We get speed and flexibility without the waste. Think fluid textiles and organic furniture. Even robot parts that move like muscles. We stopped stacking. We started shaping. 👉 Follow me for more such posts. 🔄 REPOST to help others.

We introduce Lilikoi Neural Bridge, a unified multimodal workstation optimized for AV professionals. By leveraging the low-latency reasoning of Gemini 3 Pro and the temporal depth of Veo 3.1, we achieve zero-shot high-fidelity visual state synthesis. Our core innovation lies in the Temporal Forge—a video generation pipeline that maintains identity across state mutations with sub-10s latency for 1080p cinematic streams which can be exported as ProRes with or without alpha channel, PCM audio, Lora enhanced input and LUT enhanced output. The Haawke Lilikoi platform represents a shift from "image generation" to "visual world-state management." By providing tools that are natively compatible with professional AV stacks, we empower a new generation of creative coders to build worlds that think, react, and evolve. We’re doing a scaled rollout so go join the waitlist today! https://lilikoi.haawke.com #ai #generative #audiovisual #video #launch #multimodal #mcp #gemini #veo
