Pichai’s low-key style has led critics to underestimate him. While analysts called for his resignation, Pichai remained calm; he had been lying in wait for this moment for a decade. In 2016, he had declared Google would be an “AI-first company,” and began cultivating a series of projects—custom chips, Cloud, YouTube, and deep AI research—that seemed to have nothing to do with Google’s core search product. All of these bets have paid off, and then some. Google DeepMind forged several key breakthroughs that catapulted Google’s Gemini model to the top of many capability leaderboards. Gemini now accounts for a quarter of AI traffic worldwide, up from 6% a year ago, according to Similarweb. Google has quietly introduced millions of people to AI through everyday products. All these successes mean the main criticism Pichai faces is no longer about his leadership, but rather whether Google has once again become too powerful for society’s good. En tant que membre du pôle événementiel, j'ai eu la chance de participer à l'organisation de cette soirée unique où des femmes touchées de près par la maladie ont défilé avec force et élégance. Voir ces femmes rayonner sur scène restera sans doute l’un des souvenirs les plus marquants de mon parcours à l’IÉSEG School of Management. Bien plus qu’un défilé, c’était une vraie leçon de courage qui donne tout son sens à mon engagement dans la lutte contre le cancer. Un immense merci à toutes les personnes engagées dans ce projet, aux mannequins pour leur confiance, aux marques partenaires : Agnès B, Kiabi, Au cœur des femmes, Génération S, Univers Robes, Constance L, Lunettes de Zac, Pao Chaussures, Miss Bloom et à tous les prestataires qui ont contribué à faire de cette soirée quelque chose d’aussi fort. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this project, to our models for their trust, and to our partner brands: Agnès B, Kiabi, Au cœur des femmes, Génération S, Univers Robes, Constance L, Lunettes de Zac, Pao Chaussures, and Miss Bloom, as well as all the service providers who helped make this night so powerful. Last Wednesday, I received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the WAVE Collective by FACCPNW Gala for Patisserie mon Amour. When I arrived in Seattle in 2019, I was starting over: new country, new network, many doubts. What began as small pastry workshops grew into Pâtisserie Mon Amour, created with a simple mission: to share the true foundations of French pastry and help people build real confidence in their own kitchens. Over the years, I’ve trained around 1,500 students. With the support of our partners like Alliance Française de Seattle, Le Panier, and The French Guys Bakery, the project is growing. What made the evening even more meaningful was standing alongside inspiring women: ✨ Rising Star — Alizée Castel, Illustrator (whose beautiful creations I really admire) ✨ Lifetime Achievement — Valerie Muzzolini Gordon, Principal Harpist at Seattle Symphony ✨ WAVE Member of the Year — Marion Desmazières (your encouragement and support means a lot to me) ✨ Catalyst of Change — Sandrine Tshiamala, AI educator and entrepreneur at Kolesha Mining ✨ Community Builder — Halley Knigge, Washington Trails Association Board Member and VP of Communications at BECU Being recognized among them felt both humbling and motivating. This adventure would not exist without the people who believed in me early and who opened doors, encouraged me to move this project forward, and trusted the vision when it was still fragile. The AI chip wars are intensifying with major strategic moves reshaping the industry landscape. OpenAI just secured a multiyear deal with Broadcom for custom chips and networking equipment, sending Broadcom shares soaring 11% as part of OpenAI's ambitious trillion-dollar infrastructure expansion. Meanwhile, Nvidia continues its investment spree, having backed over 100 AI startups with $50 billion in deals this year alone, including major investments in OpenAI, xAI, and Mistral AI. The competition is heating up as Reflection AI, founded by ex-DeepMind researchers, raised $2 billion to challenge China's DeepSeek dominance in open-source AI models.
