Chris Rooke reposted thisIf you know, you know. And if you were in the room at our Austin Marketer Meet-up, you definitely know. There’s real momentum building around a smarter, more intentional way to drive demand—one rooted in better signals, better timing, and a sharper understanding of when buyers are actually ready to engage. That’s what made the conversation in Austin so strong. It wasn’t theory. It was real marketers talking through what’s working, what’s changing, and where teams need to focus next. Matt Heinz captured that energy well here. These are the conversations we’re committed to creating—bringing smart B2B marketers together to share what’s real, what’s useful, and what’s next. Next stop: Boston in early June. Stay tuned for more information coming shortly. #B2BMarketing #DemandGen #MarketingStrategy #PipelineGrowth #MarketerMeetup #Activate_msChris Rooke reposted thisOur latest B2B Marketing Meet-Up with Activate in Austin was last week — 70+ marketing leaders and pork chops the size of small dogs (and that was the lunch cut!). It also saw the return of the groan-o-meter. #iykyk I love a room that feels comfortable making visceral audible reactions to our common challenges, pet peeves and pains in the butt. We're among our people, and the conversations get honest fast. After 90 minutes of marketing therapy, five takeaways: 1️⃣ Pipeline is winning the metric war. When I asked who's measured on MQLs vs. pipeline vs. revenue, more hands went up for pipeline and revenue than I expected. Metrics you can buy a beer with. Megan Lueders put the new posture plainly: marketing fails if marketing wasn't part of every closed-won deal. That framing kills the stale "who owns the lead" argument in one move. 2️⃣ The "messy middle" is where most organizations lose. Demand creation is mostly fine. Opportunity management is mostly fine. The handoff between them is a workflow disaster at most companies. Layering AI on a broken (or nonexistent) process just makes the workflow break faster. The fix often starts with a mediated working session between marketing, sales and CS — mapping what needs to happen tactically and daily, not the jazz-hands version we trot out at sales kickoff. 3️⃣ The budget conversation is shifting from "what am I spending on" to "what am I buying." Megan has line items for AI tokens now. She won't sign a vendor contract longer than a year. Katrina shifted her media mix from 60/40 working/non-working to 80/20. One benchmark worth stealing: 10X pipeline expectation on every sponsored event. Roughly 1.5X comes during the event, the other 8.5X from the follow-up. 4️⃣ AI training without context is worse than no training. Don't give your team a feature tour and send them back to their desks. Find a broken process first. Fix that. The tools follow. The job is to get to Chicago. AI is the jet engine. More horses on the stagecoach was never the answer. Strategy first. Process second. Technology third. Not the other way around. 5️⃣ The bar for authenticity just got higher. Personalization expectations climbed 10X in 18 months — same tools flooding inboxes with generic AI slop. Ceiling and floor both went up. If your AI-generated outreach reads as AI-generated, you don't just lose the deal. You lose that prospect forever. Thanks to Activate for hosting, to our panel (Katrina Kilgas, MBA Mario Portillo, Megan Lueders and Chris Rooke) for the candor, and to everyone who showed up to trade war stories instead of pretending everything is fine. The best, most honest conversations are still the ones where your boss isn't in the room. B2B Marketing Therapy is coming to more cities — details soon.

Chris Rooke reposted thisChris Rooke reposted thisAustin showed up. 80+ B2B marketers in the room and the conversations started before people even sat down. That’s usually a sign—you’re in the right place, with the right people, talking about what actually matters. Real stories, what’s working, what’s not, and where teams are rethinking their approach to pipeline, performance, and buyer engagement. This is exactly how stronger strategies get built—together, in the room. First stop of our 2026 series, and we’re just getting started. Boston, you’re up next in June! Stay tuned. Moments like this don’t happen in isolation—they’re the result of the kind of team that shows up, pushes each other, and delivers when it matters most. Proud to have had Angela Duarte, John Taranto, Ray Capitelli, and Chris Rooke there representing Activate. And even prouder of what this group represents: real partnership, real trust, and work that actually drives impact. Ray bringing home the Business is Personal Partnership Award is a big win—but it’s only part of the story. Chris Rooke reacted on thisCheck out this Signal & Noise episode to learn how Tuple is giving buyers greater access & control to drive better performance than legacy DSPs. I may have even given an update on Adtech Pizza 🤔... Great seeing Rio & Brett down at #POSSIBLEChris Rooke reacted on thisDoug Lauretano, CEO of Tuple, joins Signal & Noise's Rio Longacre at POSSIBLE Miami, Day 2, for “Rebuilding the Pipes: Why the DSP Model Is Being Rethought from the Ground Up.” Watch now: https://lnkd.in/e4zxyjA3 This conversation gets into a growing reality in AdTech: the pipes the industry has relied on for years were not built for the environment we are in now. Doug explains why today’s DSP and supply chain models often lose signal, leak value, and make it harder to see what is actually driving performance. A few key takeaways: supply path inefficiency remains a major hidden tax on media, signal loss weakens targeting and optimization in ways many buyers still underestimate, the way media is bought is often disconnected from how it actually performs, and a more direct and transparent system could unlock value that is getting lost in the current model. #Possible2026 #SignalAndNoise #AdTech #MarTech #AI #Programmatic #MediaBuying #SupplyPathOptimizationRebuilding the Pipes: Why the DSP Model Is Being Rethought from the Ground UpRebuilding the Pipes: Why the DSP Model Is Being Rethought from the Ground Up

Huge News For Radio. More people listen to radio now than 20 years ago, but it hasn't been measured with the same precision as digital - until now. The pixel based solution from MagellenAI will measure radio attribution the same as podcasts showing the true impact of a full audio stack. https://lnkd.in/geU3XuqH

Great article from PEER39 in Mediapost. If you are buying Streaming TV inventory, you should care about the Channel that you are buying, not just the App. FAST channel inventory can be the safest, cleanest in the industry, IF you know exactly where the inventory is coming from. It's important to source directly from FASTcasters so that there is known provenance for the inventory. https://lnkd.in/gbV4jWTq

As a marketing leader in iGaming, I have experienced the frustration of stagnant programmatic performance. You purchase a "High-Value Bettor" segment from a data provider, yet your CPAs remain high. Why is this happening? The answer lies in the fact that segment has been sold to every other sportsbook in the country. Targeting isn’t broken; it’s exhausted. At Cool Prevails, we believe the next era of growth is not about buying pre-built lists, but about owning the data layer. We are assisting Casino brands in building a proprietary moat by combining: - Real-time Intent: Identifying players as they engage with content across 750k+ publishers - Wealth & Behavioral Data: $300M+ 400 consumer attributes, including income, credit card ownership, and lifestyle - Website Deanonymization: Identifying the individuals behind your anonymous site traffic The result? Our partners have seen an average 25% drop in CPA by moving away from commodity programmatic segments and utilizing their own "God-tier" datasets. It's time to stop renting stale data and start owning the player profile. Read the full breakdown on the "Proprietary Player Moat" here: https://lnkd.in/g2z6cBc9 #iGaming #CasinoMarketing #ProgrammaticAdvertising #DataOwnership #PearlDiver

This highlight video represents a single aerial perspective from a much larger “Who We Are” engagement. The broader project brings together drone capture with high-end video, AI media, and testimonial storytelling to create a cohesive experience clubs can use across sales, marketing, and brand positioning—supporting membership sales and tour conversions, attracting corporate events, weddings, and tournaments, equipping sales teams with on-demand visual assets, and strengthening long-term brand equity and partnerships. As the sun sets on another MIPCOM, the tone is set for future markets in the coming weeks and months: 1. Both YouTube and the creator economy are in the game; 2. Micro dramas are hot and on the acquisition agenda; 3. 3rd Party Channel distribution is consolidating under bigger aggregators so one-off channels may have an even harder time getting a response from platforms; and the major studios still mean business as Sony Pictures returns to MIPCOM after a 5+ year absence. #mipcom2025 #streaming.

Another seismic shift in the media landscape... Nexstar Media Group, Inc. just announced a $6.2 billion acquisition of rival broadcaster TEGNA — a deal that will reshape not only North Texas but also key markets across the U.S. With expanded reach into cities like #Atlanta, #Phoenix, and #Seattle, and combined revenues pushing $8 billion, this move cements Nexstar’s position as one of the most powerful players in local news and digital media. Beyond the numbers, the deal raises bigger questions: - What does this mean for the future of local journalism? - How will advertisers and communities benefit from such massive consolidation? - And is this the blueprint for survival in a rapidly evolving media economy? Big moves. Bigger implications. #Media #Broadcasting #MergersAndAcquisitions #LocalNews

Licensing International • 15K followers
The licensing business is moving faster today than at any point in its history. AI is transforming product development and speed-to-market. Hollywood is consolidating. The entertainment ecosystem is shifting from broadcast to streaming. Meanwhile, entirely new cultural engines—YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram—are driving content discovery and consumer demand. At the same time, the global influence of Anime, Manga, K-Pop, Kawaii culture, and creator-driven brands is reshaping the licensing landscape, while fandom and the “kidult” collectible economy continue to expand. Gaming itself is evolving as audiences shift from consoles to PC and mobile platforms. Retail is also undergoing a major reset. E-commerce continues to grow, but physical retail is being reborn through experiential retail and “retailtainment,” where stores are destinations for brand engagement, discovery, and community. And in uncertain times, brands matter more than ever. Consumers gravitate toward trusted IP, beloved characters, and cultural brands that provide familiarity and emotional connection. In this environment, staying informed at the executive level is what separates the winners from the losers in the licensing game. That’s exactly why we created X Tracks Licensing Summits—to bring together leaders across brand licensing, retail, entertainment, and consumer products to understand the forces shaping the future of our industry. 📍 Bentonville X Tracks Licensing Summit — June 18 📍 AnimeNYC X Tracks Licensing Summit — August 20 📍 LA Toy Previews X Tracks Licensing Summit — September Because in today’s licensing economy, knowledge is the ultimate competitive advantage.
