Federico Tagliani shared thisThree intense days in Houston around Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) — and once again, what stands out is the concentration of talent, technology, and ambition that converges here. Monday started at the University of Houston, listening to an extraordinary lineup of researchers sharing work in AI applied to Oil & Gas, energy transition, and the shifting global energy landscape. Serious brainpower in one room. The kind of session where you leave with pages of notes… and even more questions. That evening, an excellent reception hosted by Ericsson, with thoughtful conversations and sharp moderation by Matthew Bertram — proof that some of the best ideas still happen in the conversations between the formal agenda. Tuesday at OTC brought a powerful message from Argentina: operators, leaders from Neuquén, and labor representatives aligned behind what may become one of the most important energy investment stories in the world over the next five years — Vaca Muerta, with expected investments north of $120 billion. Wednesday, thanks to the Argentina-Texas Chamber of Commerce, we visited two remarkable companies. First, Derrick Corporation, graciously hosted by Sam Strickland — one of those businesses you instantly admire: third-generation family leadership, engineering depth, and a rock-solid culture. Then Oliden Technology, where Qiming Li and his seasoned team, special mention to Pablo Codesal, gave us what can only be described as a masterclass in drilling optimization and high-performance MWD/LWD technology. Closed the day with a visit to iconic 5 Greenway Plaza, home of Oxy — one of those addresses that carries weight in the industry. And in between all the serious business… I also scored a penalty kick in a digital soccer simulator. No photographic proof of the goal, unfortunately — you’ll just have to trust me on that one. Amazon → up to $25B into Anthropic Anthropic → long-term ~$100B commitment into Amazon Web Services Capital, infrastructure, and model development are being tightly coupled to lock in ecosystems — compute, models, and distribution reinforcing each other in a closed loop. We’ve seen versions of this before in enterprise tech. What’s new is the scale… and the speed. The open question is not whether this accelerates AI — it clearly does. But...is value creation in real enterprises keeping pace with the velocity of capital being deployed? Because when cycles become this tight, two things tend to matter: who controls the platform and who actually captures the value on top of it In the end, the winning position may not be who builds the best model — but who governs, secures, and integrates it effectively inside real business environments. The productivity war is not “Claude vs Microsoft.” It’s interface vs platform. Yes, AI-native tools are becoming the entry point for work. But here’s a thought: the best Claude is probably the one that works inside your development and productivity stack, integrated, governed, and connected to your data. That’s exactly the direction we’re seeing with tools like GitHub Copilot and enterprise copilots. Standalone AI is impressive. Embedded AI is transformational. The winners will not replace the stack. Microsoft spent 40 years convincing us the desktop was Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. What happens when the desktop becomes Claude or Chat? I spend 90% of my workday inside a Claude tool. My consultants and developers live in Claude Code. The decks in PowerPoint that Claude generates are better than anything Copilot produces inside PowerPoint as a native tool. The Excel spreadsheets are cleaner than what Excel's native AI spits out. So here's the real question — why am I still paying for Microsoft licenses? Both OpenAI and Anthropic just opened their agent harness so you can build agents. Anthropic is quietly making artifacts that already rival the incumbent productivity stack. Maybe it's just lack of distribution right now but it seems like the Office subscription becomes a tax on habit at some point. Agents talking to agents don't need a ribbon menu or specific Microsoft document types. They need access to tools, models and a canvas. The productivity war isn't about features anymore. It's about where knowledge work actually happens — and it seems to be migrating faster than anyone's admitting so just curious what others thing about this. How do you see the future of tools like the Microsoft suite and where are you doing most of your knowledge work today?

Más allá de la magnitud de la feria, lo más valioso sigue pasando en las conversaciones: reuniones, cafés, cenas, charlas improvisadas y discusiones donde aparecen ideas, conexiones y oportunidades que muchas veces terminan convirtiéndose en proyectos reales. Argentina y LATAM tienen hoy una enorme oportunidad para profundizar vínculos con empresas de Estados Unidos, generando asociaciones que permitan combinar capacidad operativa local, conocimiento del mercado y tecnología internacional. Hay muchísimo espacio para crear valor cuando se juntan experiencias, capacidades y visión de largo plazo. Felicitaciones a la Agencia Argentina de Inversiones y Comercio Internacional por el gran trabajo realizado y por la presencia institucional de Argentina en la feria y también a la Argentina-Texas Chamber of Commerce por la enorme cantidad de eventos y espacios de networking generados durante toda la semana, conectando personas, empresas e ideas. Si algo me deja esta OTC es la confirmación de que esta industria se construye, sobre todo, a partir de relaciones humanas: Reencontrarse con amigos, conocer gente nueva, intercambiar ideas y fortalecer vínculos personales también es parte del verdadero valor de estos espacios. Y en ese sentido, pocas personas representan mejor ese espíritu que Gustavo Rossi y Diego Robles de Duralitte Group: generadores de oportunidades, constructores de puentes y, por sobre todo, grandes amigos. In meetings with Governor Rolando Figueroa, Gobierno de la Provincia del Neuquén, Argentina and Barbara D'Amato, CEO of Trilogy Capital and a family of funds based in Texas-U.S.: The Enterprise Fund and The Aerospace Fund, focused on future-critical investments in energy, critical resources, logistics, aerospace, defense, and technology that advance strategic priorities for our Administration. Our funds operate at the intersection of business and government -state, federal and international- U.S. capital markets, international markets, and Fortune 500 execution. We discussed key priorities for the development of Vaca Muerta, in Neuquen-Argentina, one of the world’s most strategic unconventional energy basins, and Argentina’s transformation through fiscal discipline, judicial reforms, and pro-business incentives for large-sized investments all of which generates a predictible and attractive environment for investment in Argentina. Governor Figueroa addressed the importance of workforce development for Argentina’s youth and infrastructure modernization in the Province of Neuquen. Argentina reaffirmed its commitment to dialogue and exchange of best practices among our two nations. The Americas, at the center of global energy security, is anchored by the world’s largest oil and gas producer, the United States, and one of the most attractive shale plays globally, Argentina. In dialogue with Governor Figueroa, we discussed the macro environment and America's strong interest to fast-track energy and critical resource deals in the Western Hemisphere under our Trump Administration. Oil companies are actively re-engaging in places like Venezuela despite the risks, where 'highly strategic and diplomatic capital' are driving deal execution at 'Trump speed'. Those deals are aimed at protecting global supply chains and strengthening the United States’ technological leadership. Following the #ShieldoftheAmericas Summit, we are witnessing the emergence of a Western Hemisphere focus. Specifically, a renewed focus on South America. United States and Argentina are entering a period of greater economic and strategic alignment grounded in shared interests and mutual security. Great morning at the Alliance of M&A Advisors DFW chapter breakfast. Bill McCalpin presented the latest AM&AA national market update survey results, which were very insightful. Key Take-Aways * Owners and Buyers are motivated to transact and age/retirement are driving a growing supply of companies for sale * Half of owners who intended to go to market in the 1s half of 2025, postponed or withdrew their sale process. Deal volume returned to normal in the 2nd half of 2025 * Active deals currently under LOI show higher cumulative total deal value, showing that deals postponed in 2025 are now driving higher M&A volume in early 2026 * EBITDA multiples look to be ticking up by~+0.6x reflective of the high-margin, high-growth companies that are dominating transactions recently * Companies are under-prepared for sale and preparation in advance directly addresses the most prevalent causes of deal failure Mindy Kay McRae Broadbent Jordyn Arons Rosen, CIC, CPCU Aurélia Desmot #mergersandacquisitions

UST’s bear flattened on Thursday with front end leading weakness following the positive GDP, durable goods and claims data along with hawkish Fedspeak. The 7y auction tailed 0.5bp with the bid-to-cover ratio at 2.40x vs. 2.49x last, posting the lowest indirect take-up since February 2021. TYZ5 traded in a 112-22 to 112-06 range and settled at 112-10+, with the 10y yield at 4.17% and 2s10s curve at +51. Front-end markets also gave up some 2025 rate cut pricing, with red SFRs bearing the brunt of the sell-off. October meeting has 22bp of cuts priced and December a cumulative 40bp, with the SFRZ5/Z6 spread steepening to -60.
