Jason Zander shared thisAt Halliburton #LIFE2026 last week, I shared how asset-intensive industries are changing the economics of learning, moving more of it upstream before decisions are locked in and consequences impact the field. At Microsoft, we refer to this operating model as Frontier R&D: strengthening judgment by enabling earlier exploration and learning. Microsoft Discovery helps make this possible by bringing science and computation together where learning still has leverage. Thank you to Halliburton and to Tony Antoun for the opportunity to share this perspective.Jason Zander shared this𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 | 𝗙𝘂𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗜 | 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 This week at Halliburton #LIFE2026, it was a privilege to spend time with customers, collaborators, and industry leaders discussing where our industry is heading and what it will take to lead in this next era. One message was clear: our industry is at a 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁. AI is no longer just supporting decisions; it is becoming part of the decision system itself. But ambition alone isn’t enough. Execution, in the field, is where AI creates real value. At Landmark, our focus is deliberate: bringing 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮, 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, and 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹-𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗜 together into one connected decision system, designed to: 1) Accelerate decisions with confidence 2) Elevate asset performance 3) Align organizations around a single source of truth From Subsurface to Wells to Production, and increasingly into the Boardroom, this is about transforming how decisions are made, at scale, to maximize asset value. The reality is clear: 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿. The future belongs to open, collaborative, agentic systems, where data, science, and AI are orchestrated seamlessly inside your environment. This reflects who we are at our core. We are scientists, technologists, innovators, and builders. This is our DNA. It’s this foundation that allows us to bring AI into our industry the right way: grounded in physics, shaped by engineering reality, and built for decisions you can trust. The energy and depth of discussions at LIFE2026 made one thing clear: this transformation is already underway. To our customers, thank you for your trust and collaboration as we build what’s next, together. See you at #LIFE2027 in Miami! #LIFE2026 #InsightsToOutcomes #AI #EnergyTransformation #DigitalTransformation

Jason Zander shared thisGreat to see the continued momentum coming out of Discover MAGNE this week! Since June, the collaboration with QuNorth and partners has demonstrated real impact. Across software, control systems, and hardware, the broader Nordic ecosystem and our global teams have worked side by side to move from ambition to execution. This work reflects the strength of long-term, end-to-end partnership across government, research, and industry, and I am especially proud of the leadership from Zulfi Alam and the #MicrosoftQuantum team in advancing this effort with clarity and openness. Disciplined engineering, deep partnership, and a shared mission--this is how practical quantum capability gets built. #MicrosoftQuantum #QuNorth #DiscoverMAGNE #AtomComputingJason Zander shared thisQuantum doesn’t become real in a lab announcement. It becomes real when the work begins. I’m in Copenhagen today for an important milestone. Denmark—and the Nordics more broadly—are showing what real leadership in quantum looks like: treating it as national infrastructure, not a science experiment. At QuNorth's Discover MAGNE event today, it's all about Magne —a first-of-its-kind, practical L2 system where software, control systems, and hardware are being co-designed from the start. This is what it means to make quantum real. I’m proud to partner with Atom Computing on Magne, a neutral-atom system designed for stability, performance, and sustained operation. And I’m incredibly proud of the Microsoft Quantum team, which is advancing the quantum stack end to end—from control and orchestration, to cloud integration, to developer tools—so researchers and developers can increasingly engage as users, not observers. Quantum computing isn’t a product you ship once. It’s a capability you build—through long-term collaboration, openness, and systems engineering. Last week, we announced new capabilities in the Microsoft Quantum Developer Kit (QDK), and today we are putting those capabilities to work. Moving QDK from release → active collaboration is a meaningful step forward. And it’s a roadmap for how quantum becomes practical. #QuantumComputing #MicrosoftQuantum #QDK #QuNorth #AtomComputing #NordicQuantum

Jason Zander liked thisA good reminder for everyone, especially our teams at Halliburton "Technology innovation must be practical, reliable, and ready for the field. Digital ecosystems must be open, connected, and built to operate at scale."Jason Zander liked this#LIFE2026 convened customers, sponsors, and Halliburton teams to focus on a single priority. Advancing how digital capability is applied to deliver consistent, measurable results across the asset lifecycle. Throughout the event, the discussion centered on execution. Not technology in isolation, but intelligence embedded directly into operations. From subsurface understanding through well construction and production, the message was clear. When insights are integrated into day-to-day decision making, performance improves and variability is reduced. What stood out most was the depth of engagement. Customers spoke candidly about where progress is being made, where expectations continue to rise, and where trust and alignment make the difference. Those conversations reinforced a fundamental principle. Customer intimacy and trust are not byproducts of digital transformation. They are the foundation that allows it to scale and perform. As I reflect on the week, several themes remain front of mind. Technology innovation must be practical, reliable, and ready for the field. Digital ecosystems must be open, connected, and built to operate at scale. And disciplined collaboration across customers, sponsors, and Halliburton teams remains essential to moving efficiently from insight to outcome. Thank you to our customers for the confidence you place in us, to our sponsors for helping advance these conversations, and to our employees for the rigor and focus that made LIFE2026 a strong representation of who we are. The success of this event was shaped by a shared emphasis on execution and results. The path forward is clear. Stay close to our customers. Continue building technology that performs in real operations. And work together to deliver outcomes that matter, today and over the long term. That focus carries forward to #LIFE2027 in Miami.

Jason Zander liked thisJason Zander liked thisMay the Fourth be with you! When I’m not diving into the internals of Azure or exploring the latest in agentic coding, I often find that the best way to reset is to pick up a pencil. There is something uniquely meditative about the physical nature of colored pencils, graphite, and ink, where there is no undo button and every stroke has to be intentional. I’ve spent quite a bit of time over the years trying to capture some of the iconic characters and moments from the Star Wars universe. Jason Zander reacted on thisJason Zander reacted on thisAcross every industry I spend time in, one thing is clear: complexity has never been higher. But neither has the opportunity. Just take Agentic AI. It's changing the equation and it’s helping us navigate that complexity with intelligence, trust, and at a pace that finally matches the clock speed of our world. What excites me most about that? Well, we’re moving beyond AI as a tool toward AI as a digital counterpart. Systems that can reason, plan, and act alongside experts; accelerating discovery in ways that simply weren’t possible before. That’s exactly what we’re seeing with Microsoft Discovery. Faster iteration cycles. Deeper insights. And a real step change in how science and engineering get done. This is AI transformation in action 🎯. The frontier isn't coming. Strong look at how our differentiated portfolio and customer partnerships are driving Google Cloud's growth story coming out of the Goldman Sachs' Communacopia conference yesterday: https://lnkd.in/gktdMFy4 As Thomas says, "We've spent years building advanced AI technology of our own — chips, systems, tools, agents — we made those bets very early. Much of the work that you see today has been underway for many, many years. We're not just reselling third-party AI technology. So why we're winning is because we see this deep product differentiation now being adopted by customers and (broadening) our addressable market. In turn, that's leading us to grow revenue and operating income."
