Jeff Teper shared thisExcited to share the latest Work Trends Index from Jaime Teevan and team. Some great insights from how people and organizations are successfully adopted AI that will become more critical as agentic solutions continue to get better. I also think critical in sea of other voices on AI, that Microsoft stays true to our core mission - this is a transformation, but one that can create agency and opportunity for people and organizations. https://lnkd.in/geCjPfrHAgents, human agency, and the opportunity for organizationsAgents, human agency, and the opportunity for organizations

Jeff Teper reposted thisJeff Teper reposted thisMarkdown now has a home in Microsoft 365. 📝 OneDrive and SharePoint now support viewing and editing .md files directly in the browser - no downloads, no third-party tools needed. You get a clean formatted view plus a built-in side-by-side editor with a toolbar and syntax support, all within the same place your files already live. As AI tools generate more Markdown-based outputs 🤖, having native support right where your files live makes it easier to review, refine, and share that content without ever leaving Microsoft 365. ✨ Rolling out to general availability now through late May — take a look at the full blog for details! https://lnkd.in/gg-484Fq #Markdown #OneDrive #SharePoint #Copilot #Microsoft365Introducing Markdown support in SharePoint and OneDrive | Microsoft Community HubIntroducing Markdown support in SharePoint and OneDrive | Microsoft Community Hub

Jeff Teper shared thisLots of big news from Jason Moore and the OneDrive team today!Jeff Teper shared this#OneDrive Sync just jumped from 300K items to 1 million. Public preview today for OneDrive Insiders — if you manage big shared libraries or deep OneDrives, you'll feel this one on day one. That's one piece of a stack of updates our team rolled out today across OneDrive and #SharePoint, all aimed at getting you from a file to a finished thing faster. A few more worth your attention: #Markdown support in OneDrive and SharePoint is now generally available. Create, view, and edit .md files natively in the browser, alongside the rest of your work. #AgenticAI for files in SharePoint document libraries. Ask SharePoint to build a document, presentation, or spreadsheet from content you already have. No copy-paste. "Make me a deck on the Q1 program from what's in this library." Done. Semantic search in #Windows File Explorer on #Copilot+ PCs. Describe what you're looking for instead of trying to remember what you named it. Local and cloud, together. #Copilot in OneDrive is now GA — summarize documents, compare versions, recap meeting recordings, pull details out of whiteboard images. PDF review on web and OCR on mobile round it out. #HeroLinks for unified sharing and permissions. File-level archive in SharePoint. Expiring "People in your organization" links for admins. Plenty more worth digging into. And a real thanks to the customers, partners, and community who've been telling us what's working and what isn't. The shape of this release is yours. Keep it coming. Jeff Teper liked thisJeff Teper liked thisIt’s been an incredible ride. I’ve been working nonstop for more than five decades – starting at age 8 delivering 100 papers, 365 days a year. At 15, I worked in the produce department at a discount grocery store where the working conditions weren’t great, but I married this amazing girl from the snack bar. After college, I worked as a mechanical engineer on surgical lasers until I got the chance to do frontline technical support at Novell . Twelve years later, I had helped create ZENworks, earned a VP title, and I accepted an offer from Microsoft. Jump ahead another 18 years, and there were multiple billion-dollar businesses and entirely new classes of products wishing me well as I came back home to Utah to spend these last 5 years at Qualtrics. Each of those stops taught me something I couldn’t have learned anywhere else, but all those lessons are for another day and other posts. The one thing that was true everywhere I went was the importance of the people around you - the people you work with (EX), and the people you serve (CX). There is no new product feature, no emerging technology, and no market-shifting innovation that can replace that basic fact. Everything, every time, comes down to the culture and the individuals who bring a vision to life. Whether you are leading a company, a team, a home office, or just calibrating your own life, you have 3 foundational responsibilities: — Stake out an enduring, data-driven, and differentiated vision. — Build up the organizational structures that will accelerate you towards that vision. — Put the right leaders in those structures and empower them to do their best work. Then you work on culture. Every major mistake I made in my career traces back to a miscalculation in one of the three bullets above. I am the end product of literally thousands of people who have helped and influenced me over the last 50 years. Trying to list them all here would be impossible, but I’ll find a way to tell them in person every chance I get. I promise you that there is no single character trait that will serve you better than to travel through this world with a heart full of gratitude. The step into retirement is more exciting to me than any of the steps that have come before it. Thank you for being part of my story.

Jeff Teper liked thisJeff Teper liked thisGot one of the last Mac Minis before Apple stopped shipping them! When I started The Knowing Moments podcast project, I really wanted to get hands-on with the latest AI tools. Through the creation process, I have been using ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini for the script editing and podcast creation steps. Over the time, I have switched to Claude Cowork to help me automate the digital content campaign process. Now onto experimenting full agent mode in Mac Mini to see how much automation I can push. Still human in the loop for the content originality. Curious what all the AI tools other creators are using currently? And how are you deploying Agent mode? #TheKnowingMoments #Entrepreneurship #AIAgent #AIAutomation

Microsoft is NOT laying off people (in another "new" round) due to AI (at least directly) but to keep putting money in AI. It is doing so, apparently, in attempt to "offset" expenses (capex and opex) in AI. So creating and maintaining AI is costly -- very costly - so only way you can salvage the situation is by "firing people"
