David Flink shared thisNow may be a good time to tell y'all I've joined Fanatics Collect to bring must-have collectibles closer to every fan. It's my hobby-turned-job moment, and I honestly can't believe I get to do this. It's also a little selfish; here's a picture of the Quinten Post part of my card collection. I'm basically just addressing my own needs (or: building from experience?). Cool things to come!

David Flink shared thisWhat a time to be on stage. Thanks for having me TikTok. See you at GlobalTok25! (Huge h/t to Eugene Oh for capturing my good hair day.)

David Flink shared thisVery excited to welcome Pinterest and TikTok to Amazon in-app shopping. These integrations are another step towards lettings our customers shop wherever they find inspiration, and follow in the footsteps of our partnerships with Meta and Snap Inc. last year. Huge thanks to my team, its extended family of Amazonians, and our partners for making these launches possible. (As an aside: big fun to reconnect with my fellow ex-Bings in new roles.) We're only at the beginning of Amazon's social shopping journey. Check out our open positions on Amazon Jobs and come change the future of social commerce with us. https://lnkd.in/gKubPy8cAmazon Deals Let Shoppers Buy Products on TikTok, PinterestAmazon Deals Let Shoppers Buy Products on TikTok, Pinterest

David Flink shared thisLast November, we did a thing and launched Amazon in-app shopping for US-based customers on Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. We're accelerating in all directions this year, so now's an excellent time to come build the future of social commerce with me and Thomas Hibbert. We're #hiring: * Senior Product Manager - Tech: https://lnkd.in/gX2N8sCk * Software Development Engineer II: https://lnkd.in/ggTRyBAG * Front-end Development Engineer II: Ping me (req. 2589518 should be up shortly) * Senior Front-end Development Engineer: Ping me (req. 2589608 should be up shortly) Know anyone great or are you great yourself (and let's be honest, why would you not be)? David Flink shared thisAs Maurice Rahmey so shrewdly observed, we shipped a thing, and that thing is now on TechCrunch and other places. In-app shopping was the first document I wrote after joining Amazon in 2021, and it's pretty much been my life for the last two and a half years. We're excited and we're learning and there's so much more to come here. So proud of everyone who worked ridiculous hours across companies to bring this to life (you know who you are). Stay tuned; I promise it'll be worth it!Meta and Amazon team up on new in-app shopping feature on Facebook & Instagram | TechCrunchMeta and Amazon team up on new in-app shopping feature on Facebook & Instagram | TechCrunch

David Flink shared thisHappy 20th LinkedIn! I know we’ve been seeing other people and all, but we had a good ride together. In honor of some beautiful memories, here’s a picture of my son terrorizing the Sunnyvale campus in 2017. Cheers! #linkedin20

David Flink reacted on thisDavid Flink reacted on thisI launched my career more than 40 years ago at a manufacturing company, writing computer programs stored on physical punched cards. Fast‑forward to today, and I’m handing in my badge — for good. 🚀 After an incredible final chapter at tech startup ClickUp I’m stepping into retirement — and honestly, I’ve never been more excited for what comes next. ClickUp gave me the rare gift of ending my career surrounded by brilliant, kind, wildly driven people. My career in technology has been a thrill ride. From sorting those punched cards to building AI agents, being a technologist has meant a lifetime of learning, reinvention, and — most importantly — extraordinary people at every turn. So what’s next? I’m shifting my focus to nourishing my creative spirit. You’ll find me in my art studio creating multi‑media work, in my workshop designing and building sculptural furniture, and — something I’m especially proud of — serving on the board of Arttitude, supporting their mission to uplift queer and trans artists here in Buffalo. 🎨🪚 The part that matters most: The proudest moments of my career weren’t technical. They were the years spent mentoring and coaching, and the work of building cultures where people actually felt they belonged. Since the mid‑90s — long before “DEI” was a buzzword — I’ve been committed to making the workplace more inclusive, especially for my LGBTQ+ community. In an era of nonstop innovation, one truth has never changed: the most important ingredient in any organization will always be the humans behind the tech. 🏳️🌈 To everyone I’ve worked with: thank you for the trust, the laughter, and for being part of my story. The adventure continues. 🚀 gjparis.myportfolio.com

I’m so proud of my team: their attention to detail and care for the experience came through in a big way. We’re continuing to push the boundaries on our “everything app,” making Travel so delightful, and integrating AI in ways that are intentional. https://lnkd.in/geiUBnJz Shoutout to Sachin Kansal for pulling off the live demos (despite my nerves), and to Molly F. David Flink reacted on thisDavid Flink reacted on thisI have decided to leave Amazon after 14 years, 9 months, 29 days tenure across two stints. My last day is May 1st. I am very grateful for the opportunities, mentorship, and experience that brought me from an SDE I fresh out of university to Principal SDE. I worked on teams that built the world's largest storage system, the compute infrastructure that allows FINRA to deliver reports on every financial market transaction in the US to the Treasury Department by noon the next day, demand forecasting for billions of products, first of its kind privacy enhancing technology available as a managed service, one of the largest automated marketing programs in the world, and a discussion board where customers could spend their time discussing magical warrior cats. I'm proud of my personal contributions to systems that help millions of Stores and AWS customers improve their lives, and I'm even more proud of my hard working colleagues who continue to make these things possible. I got an offer I just couldn't refuse, which I will post about soon.

David Flink reacted on thisDavid Flink reacted on thisWe are seeing some big changes in sports with recent advances in technology. One of the main changes is how games are officiated. Replay was a big leap, but challenges are becoming automated with AI. MLB's ABS system is is the latest major change I can think of. There are other objective rules across sports that are still being enforced subjectively. I am curious to see what major changes comes to sports in the near future. The Literal Rulebook: How AI and Computer Vision Are Forcing Sports to Stop GuessingThe Literal Rulebook: How AI and Computer Vision Are Forcing Sports to Stop GuessingJohn Maciel

💡 AI doesn’t just change how code is written – it changes expectations and outcomes. In the final section of Jellyfish’s AI Adoption Guide, we explore how expectations for engineering leaders are evolving as AI becomes embedded across the SDLC. Because the organizations pulling ahead are treating AI as a transformation, not a tooling upgrade. Inside, you’ll explore: - Why AI adoption is quickly becoming a leadership mandate, not an option - How to balance ambitious goals with realistic expectations - What cultural investments are required to sustain long-term gains - How data can be used to align executives and engineering teams The teams that win in the AI era won’t just have better tools – they’ll have leaders who know how to guide change.
