Because from the outside, streaming looks like a UI nicety, words appearing word by word instead of all at once. But Atom doesn't just generate text. It checks policies, runs tool calls, coordinates between specialist agents, and produces structured outputs, all before a single response lands. Our original architecture treated all of that as a text stream. It fell apart the moment real-world conditions kicked in: duplicate text on reconnect, corrupted structured outputs, no clean way to show where a multi-step action actually was. We reframed the whole thing: stop thinking about messages, start thinking about the state that evolves through a stream of updates. I wrote up the full article on this — the problem, the design shift, the tradeoffs we made deliberately, and why it matters for the multi-agent architecture we're building toward. These issues are due to the current technological tools and changes that forced enterprises to adopt ways to control access to systems, addressing employees needs. It’s been an amazing 2+ years here at Atomicwork for me. We grew 4x last year and 100x in revenue during these two years. Our team has grown 4x as well mostly in Engineering and all other support roles to accelerate global growth. We have been diligent in riding our tech debt as we grew, continue to care for our customers, addressing their needs, and feature requests with obsession. This newsletter is dedicated to all of 27,100+ subscribers and followers, our customers and teams. It is these early adopters like Zuora, AMMEX Corporation, Abzena and especially Pepper Money ANZ who have moved away from ServiceNow to Atomicwork 2 years ago and never looked back. Together we focused on quality, service excellence, employee experience and reimagining the service management. We are on our way to make tickets irrelevant for employees as it is only relevant for IT service providers and the AI agents and coworkers who are going to need to track their relevance and performance. Our meeting on the AI Defined Vehicle will show how it's a natural next step after the Software Defined Vehicle phase that we've been in Tesla launched the Model S in 2012. Now, most carmakers have SDVs. It's time to layer on the AI in user-facing roles, and in invisible functions managing the vehicle.

While OpenAI is generating billions in revenue, it faces significant financial challenges due to its extremely high operating costs for developing advanced AI, leading to substantial annual losses. The core issue is whether its revenue growth can outpace its massive expenses and justify its large-scale ambitions to investors. Challenges also exist competing with Meta, Alphabet® (Google), Microsoft and Apple all of them have multi billion revenue streams to fund AI ambitions... thoughts?
