Lionel Lee shared thisSo incredibly proud of our Education Equity team here at Google for graduating the latest cohort of our newly-relaunched Google Tech Exchange program. Thanks to their tireless work, we hosted 165+ students from 15 HBCU and HSI partner campuses in the Bay Area for a week-long immersion. It’s the first time since the start of the pandemic that we were able to host students at a Google campus, and it’s incredibly fulfilling to prepare these students to get internships and full-time jobs at Google and other tech companies. I was honored to participate in the celebration by presenting the welcome keynote. In an era where progress towards representation and equity in Big Tech feels achingly slow, Tech Exchange is a reminder that great work is still happening every day to build a more inclusive workforce where everyone is given the opportunity to build for a world where all feel they belong. We are on a journey at Google to create opportunities that will positively impact the demographics of the Tech ecosystem and by doing so, positively impact the lives of so many and hopefully help to build a more inclusive world. The level of dedication and passion of the teams at Google that do this important work leave me in awe. My confidence doesn't come from your opinion of me. It comes from my earned credibility and lived experience. Last year, I led highly rated leadership development sessions in person across the United States, as well as in Sydney and Brazil. I did not shape shift in those environments to blend in. I showed up as myself. - Humor - Hip-hop references - Lived experiences Plus: - 15+ years of experience - Educational credentials - Proven results My decisions have merit because I have tried, failed, learned, tried again, and know what works. My methodologies are valid because they are grounded in best practices, supported by research, and have been validated in global settings. So no, I am not interested in showing up as anyone but myself. I also encourage you to show your executive presence by showing up clear, confident and backed by the work you have already done.

A few takeaways I shared that translate beyond real estate: 🟡 The interface is collapsing. A year ago the user went to the model, opened the app, typed the prompt, parsed the response. Today the model comes to the user, runs in the background, and takes action across surfaces (web, CRM, email, calendar) without supervision. The unit of work moves from "answer" to "outcome." 🟡 The right mental model is roles, not apps. What's resonating with operators isn't a feature list, it's a team. Marketing manager, research analyst, ISA, transaction coordinator, assistant. Each with goals, context, and a voice. That's the framing that makes agentic stick. 🟡 Vertical specialization is where the moat is forming. Real estate is a uniquely hard substrate for generic agents: ISA workflows run on 6–24 month nurture cycles, contracts and disclosures shift by jurisdiction, and every local market has its own MLS schema, norms, and comps. A home is the largest, most emotional, longest-cycle purchase most people ever make The winning systems are the ones that encode the vertical, not the ones that wrap a generic LLM. The day closed with a dynamic fireside with Mike Puma and Jimmy McNally, two amazing CENTURY 21® leaders actually shipping AI inside the franchise, not just talking about it.
