Philip Moyer shared thisHad a wonderful time at the ASU+GSV Summit last week. A pleasure joining Rajen Sheth and Adam Freed on the stage to talk about lessons learned on AI, how it can help improve outcomes in education and our new work with Kyron Learning. So many great conversations with customers, investors and with our incredible McGraw Hill team. And a big thanks to my friend Michael T. Moe for the many valuable introductions. I’ll be excited to return next year. #RedCubeProud #AI #Education #ASUGSV

Philip Moyer shared thisHuman intelligence is much more complex and efficient than AI. At McGraw Hill, we are using AI to build the next 100 years of human intelligence...and we believe teachers will continue to be indispensable. In this article in Fortune, I explain why I’m excited about this moment in education: https://lnkd.in/d-y4nngf #AI #Education #EdTech

Philip Moyer shared thisHad a wonderful time speaking to students from Abraham Lincoln High School (Brooklyn, NY) at our New York office last week. Every year, we are grateful to host students as part of NYC’s Career Discovery Week. Such an amazing and inspiring group of students. A few messages I shared: 1) The businesses you will create, things you will build, problems you will solve will eclipse anything we are doing today. You will shape the future. 2) Work on things that really matter to you. Find an issue that is interesting. Focus on it and go deep. 3) Hard times are what make you. Success and failure are two sides of the same coin. You will learn most from your hard times. 4) Relationships matter. Those you lift up, will lift you up. #RedCubeProud Partnership for NYC NYC Public Schools

Philip Moyer shared thisMy first month at McGraw Hill has been incredible, and last week was no exception. I spent the week with our customers and product teams... and couldn’t be more excited about future of education. In Phoenix, our global K-12 team shared the full range of curriculum we build for students. (Wow, our new Math and Literacy programs are inspiring.) Then I joined our Higher Ed teams for a visit to Louisiana State University where I met with T. Russell Crook and with faculty and students. I finished the week at our customer symposium. So much good feedback and collaboration on how we can improve the education journey for students, and support instructors with AI that has academic integrity at its core. It was inspiring to see how deeply our team understands the educators and students we serve. By name, by class, by institution. A huge thank you to my McGraw Hill colleagues who made these visits possible. #RedCubeProud

Philip Moyer shared thisExciting first week at McGraw Hill - spent with our leadership team and Board. So clear that our mission to serve students and educators at every stage of their journey is more important than ever. One of the highlights was the release of our third quarter earnings results. We grew revenue, EBITDA and market share and raised our guidance for the full fiscal year. We also shared the impact of our recently released AI-driven personalized learning tools. So proud to be a part of the incredible legacy that McGraw Hill is building in this next generation of learning. Read more about our earnings results here: https://lnkd.in/eMzHmTEK #RedCubeProud

Philip Moyer shared thisI’m so honored to serve as McGraw Hill’s next CEO. Thank you Simon Allen and the Board of Directors for putting their trust in me. Education has the power to transform lives and AI has the power to transform education. It’s a privilege to lead a company that is so well positioned to harness AI to shape the next generation of learning. I can’t wait to get started and to work with the entire team at McGraw Hill to shape the future of education together. #RedCubeProud!Philip Moyer shared thisThis morning, McGraw Hill announced that former Vimeo CEO and Google AI executive Philip Moyer will succeed Simon Allen as President and CEO when Simon retires next month. Simon will continue in his role of Chair of the Board and work with Philip and our executive team to ensure a smooth transition and continue to provide input on McGraw Hill’s long-term growth strategies. Philip brings extensive experience in technology and AI-driven transformation to McGraw Hill. He oversaw the launch of an AI-first video strategy that delivered double-digit improvements in revenue and profitability at Vimeo, helped launch Google’s Generative AI strategy and has served in various leadership roles at Amazon and Microsoft throughout his 35+ year career. During Simon’s highly successful tenure as President and CEO, McGraw Hill has experienced significant growth, leading to the important milestone we celebrated last summer when we became a publicly traded company. We are grateful for his leadership during such a momentous time in the company’s history, and the transformation that he enabled through his passion for education, deep knowledge of the industry and devotion to the educators and students we support around the world. Philip takes the lead at a pivotal time as we are expanding our market leadership and harnessing AI in innovative ways to improve the learning experience. We’re thrilled he’ll be joining us to help write the next chapter in McGraw Hill’s long and illustrious history. Thank you, Simon – and welcome to the McGraw Hill family, Philip! Philip Moyer liked thisPhilip Moyer liked thisThe last 3 years at Vimeo were an absolute sprint. That sprint is complete. We evolved a platform, shipped Vimeo AI, and scaled a global business. But the real legacy of that time is the team. I had the privilege of working with some of the most brilliant people. Philip Moyer, Robert Petrocelli, Ashraf Alkarmi, Kevin Dalvi, Zohar Dayan, Zoe Black, Phil Worthington, Celeste Rose, Assaf Dov Cohen, Marc Rambeau, Seth Rieder, Ram Kalaf, Daniel Highbrown, and many more. This week marks my first month leading Product Design at BetterUp. We are focused on a very specific problem: human transformation at scale. We take the deeply personal experience of human coaching and pair it with behavioral science and AI to scale that kind of growth worldwide. I get to build this alongside an exceptional team. A deep thank you to Alexi Robichaux and Allison Yost, Ph.D., Brian O'Hagan, Kajal Gala, Sarah Innocenzi for the immense trust. Transitions are rarely simple, but your warmth, openness, and energy have made this first month incredibly grounding. We are hiring across design in all our hubs, with more openings coming soon. She's led this non-profits' messaging, communications, and branding challenges as it grew from 0 to 90 students, and 177 graduates, and into supporting the community. It's hard and fun work that non-profits undertake in order to accomplish very worthwhile missions. 🙏 Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics at University of Delaware thanks you Angela, for discussing "Marketing at a Non-Profit" with Suresh Sundaram and my classes. Keep up the great mission driven work! 👍 And readers! ...if you live in PA and want your existing PA state income taxes to go to St James for a tax credit, just LMK! 😊 "No money, no mission!"

Philip Moyer liked thisPhilip Moyer liked thisI am pleased to report that I passed my final module D4 and achieved the WSET Diploma in Wines certification aka DipWSET! I started the journey in January 2022 with WSET Level 1. I never thought I would pursue Diploma given the level of difficulty especially with the tasting exams which total 18 wines all blind across 3 different modules (still wine, fortified, and sparkling). I've learned a lot and developed a passion I didn't know I had. Thank you Kevin Vogt (Master Sommelier), Anne Sewell Briggs DipWSET, Peter Marks, Master of Wine, Las vegas Wine Academy LLC, Napa Valley Wine Academy, Wine & Spirit Education Trust, Noelle Hale DipWSET, and classmates Lindsay Tomek, Guillermo Munoz for the encouragement, collaboration and guidance along the way.

Philip Moyer reacted on thisPhilip Moyer reacted on thisRIP Dr. William "Max" Maxwell. 🥲 A meaningful mentor that helped shape my life. Max woke up every day asking "How can I help?" + He was driven to help people, students, academic knowledge, and companies. + He wasn't so concerned about making money. He felt he was blessed and had enough. Max lessons I embrace... 1) "Learn How to Learn" 2) Work for What you Want. (He helped me fund 50% of Master of Engineering and MBA degrees thru working with him as a Teaching Assistant and on corporate projects) 3) Focus on the big picture and "How to help." 4) Travel 🌍 to learn and enrich your life and raise your value. 5) Inventory expands to the space allotted to it. 😊 6) Do Things Right. Quality counts, over and over again. 7) Many complex problems usually are solved with common sense, basic mathematics, and simulation to gain insights into the issues. Some can benefit from advance math. Know the difference, but don't be afraid to KISS (Keep It Simple Silly). 8) We all struggle with challenges. Max was very open about being a recovering alcoholic. And he wanted to help those also afflicted with this disease. Here is a great interview by NC State re-caping of some of his journey, some of his work and background. https://lnkd.in/ebeTviuq Miss him already. He made my life and our world a better place.

I’ve spoken to over 2 dozen MDs at PE firms I can confidently say that the arb of figuring out how to implement Vertical AI at portfolio companies is very real right now It will fundamentally change underwriting for those who can do it predictably and unlock generational returns. Most are aware they need to act. Very few have.

Plaid’s CEO Reflects on Risky Beginnings That Revolutionized Fintech Integration Zach Perret, CEO of $6.1 billion fintech giant Plaid, shares how the company’s early decision to pull financial data from 12,000 banks via screen scraping laid the groundwork for digital finance connectivity across apps like Venmo and Robinhood. Despite legal hurdles and resistance from banks, Plaid's commitment to improving access to financial data spurred long-term industry change. Today, the company primarily uses secure APIs, reflecting a more sustainable and collaborative ecosystem in financial technology. A recent funding round led by Franklin Templeton raised $575 million, cementing Plaid's role as a leading infrastructure provider in fintech. #FintechInnovation #PlaidSuccessStory #BankingTransformation https://lnkd.in/d3irhjGd

Most professional services firms operate under a pass-through + annual distribution model. So if you’re a Partner, what’s the best holiday gift? A higher PPP—driven by AI your firm deployed well. That’s how one CFO described their Laurel rollout: “The first cohort alone paid for the entire investment. Twice.” Now scale that across 1,000 professionals. Or for our largest customer today, 5,000+. And by EQ1, 10,000+ The math gets staggering—fast. The firms entering 2026 with proven AI ROI will compound ahead of peers still debating tools instead of outcomes. Happy 2026. Let’s make it count.

Is PE & VC AI Governance Theater? Many PE & VC firm leaders believe they are governing AI adoption, yet in reality, they've never transferred their own expertise to an AI system. Governance without internal AI proficiency is theater. Ops2AI helps PE & VC leaders codify their diligence, value creation, and judgment criteria, enabling Associates to learn fifty percent faster. This, in turn, allows firms to guide portfolio AI adoption for the right business value levers and build leadership succession engines. Without capturing and sharing internal intelligence at the firm and Leadership level, you're just acting. Firm-to-Portfolio AI = IP Capture >Training > Execution > The AI Lifecycle

Boston's startup scene rarely breeds subtlety, but Jellyfish built a quiet revolution under the radar. Founded by Andrew Lau, Philip Braden, and David Gourley, the same trio that turned Endeca Technologies into a $1.1B Oracle acquisition, this Boston crew isn't chasing trends. They're rebuilding how engineering leaders think. Their mission is direct: make every #engineeringleader a business leader. Not a manager of sprints, but a strategist who can read code like a balance sheet. That focus sharpened in July 2025 when Jellyfish published The Jellyfish AI Impact Framework: A Practical Guide for R&D Leaders Navigating the Hybrid AI-Human Era, a move that may redefine how AI's value gets measured. Lau, an Massachusetts Institute of Technology-trained technologist with LoopIt and Nanigans stripes, leads the charge. Philip Braden, Princeton University brain and Endeca's first product manager, brings the discipline of product truth. David Gourley, University of California, Berkeley grad, HTTP co-author, and Endeca's founding CTO, still codes like the future depends on it. Add Krishna Kannan, Head of Product with a Williams College + BU pedigree, and Ryan Kuchova, Head of Strategy & Ops and author of the Framework itself, and you've got a leadership core fluent in both systems and storytelling. By May 2025, Jellyfish data showed 51% of pull requests involved AI, up from 14% in June 2024. That's a 260% surge in 12 months. Every exec could feel the shift but couldn't prove the payoff. Boards wanted ROI. CFOs wanted #transparency. R&D teams were caught between intuition and inspection. The AI Impact Framework answered with structure, grounded in insights from 300+ engineering leaders and 20K+ developers. The Framework maps 3 dimensions, #Adoption, #Productivity, and #Outcome. Who's using AI. Where it accelerates velocity. How it reshapes cost and throughput. It's the microscope for the AI era, measuring how tools like GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, Gemini, Claude Code, Cursor, and Windsurf actually influence business performance. Vendor-agnostic by design, it turns fragmented tool chaos into one signal of truth. Jellyfish didn't just drop a report, they backed it with the weight of partnership. As Gold Sponsor of the 2025 DORA report, they didn't join the conversation; they authored the language for it. With 500+ #enterprise customers and nearly 100K engineers, from Mastercard to ZoomInfo, Toast to PagerDuty, the company's no longer just an analytics layer. It's the connective tissue of modern engineering management. 90% of teams now use AI coding tools, yet few can measure impact. Jellyfish is giving them the lens. The next evolution of software won't be human vs. machine, it'll be measured by the ones who can see both sides clearly. #AI #EngineeringLeadership #EngineeringManagement #Data #DataDriven #Technology #Innovation #TechEcosystem #StartupEcosystem #TechNews If software engineering peace of mind is what you crave, Vention is your zen.
