Memory Price Outlook for 1Q26 Sharply Upgraded; QoQ Increases of All Product Categories to Hit Record Highs TrendForce Corp.'s latest #memory industry survey indicates that persistent #AI and #datacenter demands in 1Q26 are worsening the global memory supply and demand imbalance, thereby increasing suppliers' pricing power. Thus, TrendForce has significantly raised its 1Q26 price forecasts for both #DRAM and #NAND Flash products. The quarter-over-quarter increase in conventional DRAM contract prices has been revised upward, from a previous estimate of 55-60% to now 90-95%. Similarly, NAND Flash contract prices are now expected to rise from 33-38% to 55-60%. Further upward adjustments may still occur. TrendForce reports PC shipments in 4Q25 exceeded expectations, resulting in a shortage of PC DRAM. Even tier-1 PC OEMs with secured allocations from #memory suppliers are experiencing declining inventory levels. In a market dominated by sellers, driving contract prices higher, PC DRAM prices in 1Q26 are projected to increase by over 100% QoQ, setting a new record for a quarterly surge. For #server #DRAM, major CSPs and server OEMs in North America and China are negotiating annual long-term agreements with memory suppliers. Strong competition for limited supply is expected to push server DRAM prices up by around 90% QoQ in 1Q26, the largest quarterly increase on record. Suppliers are allocating capacity cautiously to match real demand while balancing strategic accounts. The growing supply-demand gap is intensifying competition across end-device segments. Contract prices for LPDDR4X and LPDDR5X are projected to rise by ca. 90% QoQ in 1Q26, the steepest increases to date. U.S. smartphone contracts were largely finalized late last year, while negotiations with Chinese vendors are expected to progress after the Lunar New Year. On the #NAND Flash side, orders in 1Q26 significantly exceed production capacity. Memory makers are prioritizing DRAM due to stronger profitability, reallocating production lines and further constraining NAND capacity. Any output gains will rely on gradual process improvements, keeping short-term supply tight. Demand for high-performance #storage continues to exceed expectations, driven by AI inference workloads. Since late 2025, rapid procurement by North American CSPs has pushed enterprise #SSD demand sharply higher.
