We had plenty of people stop by the booth after the session to dive deeper into their own experiences and ask for further insights. Roman Stanek reposted thisRoman Stanek reposted thisRecently, a customer asked my opinion on building skill registries on top of the Agent Skills standard. I told them I'm all for it, as long as the right architecture is in place. Without it, skill registries become the place where company knowledge goes to die. Skill registries give you one central place to manage and share skills across the org. That's great. But the flip side of that is that your company knowledge ends up hard-coded into the skills themselves. And if it's not connected to a source of truth, it's going to cause problems. A revenue policy here, a product spec there, an onboarding nuance buried in a third. Splintered. Duplicated. 2 months later, the company has evolved. The policy changed. The product spec is out of date. But the agent is still happily executing that skill - using context that was true in October and isn't anymore. No one knows where to go to update it. No one knows who to ask to confirm what's accurate. And the agent doesn't know it's wrong. So it just keeps working. That's why skills should always reference your knowledge layer, not embed knowledge in themselves. I tell our customers to think of the skill as the "how." The knowledge layer is the "what." Keep them separate, and the system stays governable as the business evolves.

Roman Stanek reposted thisRoman Stanek reposted this𝗦𝗔𝗣 𝗱𝗼𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗜 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 SAP announced the acquisitions of Prior Labs and Dremio today, plus Reltio a few weeks back: this is a significant strategic shift for SAP. SAP is repositioning from a business application vendor (plus data products) toward a full data and AI platform vendor. The three pieces fit together. Dremio adds an open lakehouse on Apache Iceberg, Arrow, and the Polaris catalog, with a serverless query engine for federated, in-place access across SAP and non-SAP sources. Prior Labs adds TabPFN, a tabular foundation model that runs predictions on structured business data via in-context learning, without retraining, and accessible to business users through a natural language interface. Reltio supplies the master data and data quality layer that makes the rest usable at scale. For SAP customers, this move further strengthens the end-to-end stack, and adds another reason not to “first move all your data somewhere else.” For Databricks, Snowflake, and Microsoft Fabric, it signals a more serious competitive push within SAP-centric accounts. For Denodo and Starburst, differentiation around federation becomes harder to sustain - particularly within SAP-driven architectures, where such capabilities are increasingly embedded in the platform itself. And for players like DataRobot, H2O.ai, and others in structured-data AI, the bar is rising - especially with SAP signaling significant investment in this space over the coming years. Open questions for me going into Sapphire in two weeks: Will SAP truly support using Dremio to get data out of SAP - not just bring non-SAP data in? The openness of the BDC approach still needs to be proven in practice, especially in light of recent API policy changes that have raised concerns around data accessibility and cost. How will TabPFN coexist with SAP-RPT-1, the tabular foundation model SAP already developed in-house? As new capabilities are acquired, which current products and partnerships may see a decline in relevance or strategic priority? And how will SAP explain the semantic layer when Datasphere, BDC data products, SAC, SAP BW, the SAP Knowledge Graph, and Polaris each carry business context, and customers need to know which one is authoritative for what purpose? 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁: Stronger capabilities, more options - but also more complexity. This makes strategic planning and architecture decisions more critical than ever. We’re seeing that strategy translate to real customer outcomes. Take Cartelligent, an automotive broker. They’re using AI Receptionist (AIR), AI Virtual Assistant (AVA), and AI Conversation Expert (ACE) to reduce manual work, improve the customer and employee experiences, and achieve a 9.85 out of 10 customer satisfaction score. A few other highlights from today’s earnings announcement: 🔹 Paying AIR customers grew to more than 11,800, a 40% increase QoQ. ACE customers grew 85% YoY, while RingCX customers also grew 70% YoY, with more than half utilizing AI. 🔹 We introduced new capabilities for AIR, expanding into additional channels and workflows, including e-commerce, scheduling, and SMS messaging, along with automatic language detection and switching to support smarter cross-channel engagement. 🔹 The combination of our RingEX, RingCX, and AI portfolio, robust platform, and omnichannel capabilities is fueling ongoing migrations from on-prem to cloud for organizations like Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, Inc. and the New York Mets. 🔹Industry analysts continue to validate the value we’re delivering, with RingCentral the only provider named a Metrigy MetriStar Top Provider in both the CCaaS Platforms and WEM Suites reports. From serving SMBs to enterprise and addressing simple to complex needs, we’re committed to innovation and well-positioned to deliver a modern AI-first customer engagement platform at scale. New York City-based Betaworks has closed its third fund at $66M to invest in early-stage AI startups. Betaworks, a staple of the NYC tech ecosystem since 2008, will focus its new fund on investing in pre-seed and seed-stage AI companies. The firm has been investing in AI since 2016 and has backed companies like Hugging Face. Fund III is larger than the firm's previous funds ($46M Fund II in 2020 and $48M Fund I in 2016) and saw many of its previous limited partners return to invest, a strong signal in a challenging fundraising environment for VCs. The fund will seek to make at least 25 pre-seed to seed investments, as well as 50 investments into startups as part of the Betaworks Camps program. Congratulations to the Betaworks team. A few months ago, Satya Nadella said something bold: “SaaS is dead.” His point? AI agents will soon learn your business logic and update your databases directly, no need for traditional SaaS.
