I’ve waited over three weeks for Hyatt to take real accountability. Since that hasn’t happened, I’m sharing this publicly. You be the judge—check the photos and see the comments for others. I don’t take this public lightly. But Hyatt’s complete lack of attention makes it clear: this is warranted. I hope my network can help get their attention—and warn others about how far the brand has fallen. My fiancée, children, friends, and I (15 in total) stayed at a Hyatt property in Mexico where the water was shut off without notice—no showering, no bathrooms, no handwashing. When it came back? Brown, contaminated water. My fiancée brushed her teeth with it before we saw it pool in the sink. The pool water was so heavy with contaminants it turned our jewelry black—some pieces now beyond repair. These aren't minor inconveniences—they're health and property hazards. I raised the issue through every official channel. What did I get? No contact from the property. Two weeks of generic, dismissive messages from Hyatt support: “We’re still reviewing.” A suggestion to email a general inbox—after two weeks of Facebook messages. Only after I said I’d contact CEO Mark Hoplamazian directly—and proved I had his email—did anyone respond again and claim it was “escalated.” That was July 13, 11 days ago. So here we are. Mark, is this the guest experience Hyatt is proud of? Is it policy to ignore guests after serious issues? Is there any real process to hold properties accountable—or is the Hyatt name just a free pass for franchisees? Hyatt claims to be a standard-bearer for hospitality. Right now, it feels like just another logo—no leadership behind it. As someone who helps companies fix broken sales experiences for a living, this hits close to home. When brands ignore real customer concerns—like contaminated water, health risks, or property damage—they do more than lose a customer. They spark public backlash, lose trust, and invite viral scrutiny. Just ask Hilton, Airbnb, or IHG. In today’s world, your support inbox is your brand. Delay, deflect, or disappear—and you’ll pay the price. I’m still open to resolution. But I won’t stay quiet.

Easily one of the best presentations was a tactical and honest presentation from Julie Yaunches at NVIDIA on agentic engineering. With half the world YOLO’ing their way through vibe coding, she gave a framework-based approach to managing quality with agentic coding without making it seem like the challenges aren’t real or we should be seeing 80% productivity gains overnight. The reality: Quality gates and hardening phases are more important than ever, which is why I’m helping companies build them in their own SDLC.
